5.0 out of 5 stars Will make airports more exciting for your kid
Apart from the usually brilliant, somewhat old-fashioned classic style of Richard Scarry, this book has the added value of being a brilliant travel companion. If you spend a lot of time in airports, you'll be pleased that your child will view the same old routines - check-in, security, boarding - with a lot more informed interest.

1.0 out of 5 stars Counterfeit Scarry?
My family loves Scarry. I spend probably 40 percent of my day reading Richard Scarry books to my 17 month old, because that's what he loves doing . I feel like I could find Richard Scarry in a parade, in the dark, with my eyes closed. Something about this book just ain't right. The drawings are sloppy and crowded. They don't obey the laws of physics. Huckle's dad...

5.0 out of 5 stars My 2-year old adores this book, August 1, 2004

I bought the book for our first airplane trip. Since then, my 2-year old asks to read it again and again and will even spend time on her own purusing it. Because of all the detail, it is a great book to keep a child busy on a flight/trip. Unlike the older Richard Scarrys, it shows males and females in non-traditional roles, which is a nice plus.

Everytime we read this book about the airport, she notices something new. She points everything out to me and wants to read it over and over and over again.

I feel like I could find Richard Scarry in a parade, in the dark, with my eyes closed. Something about this book just ain't right. The drawings are sloppy and crowded. They don't obey the laws of physics. Huckle's dad looks like a knockoff. The colors are wrong... and lastly, the story just doesn't sound like it's written by the S-Man himself. Huckle never says, "Wow!" Sorry... we love airplanes but this book is creeping me out.

I read Scarry's few books when I was little but didn't understand what all about each of those books and I am deaf. I liked some of those Scarry books. I ordered that book for my grandnephew as his Christmas present from me. He haven't read it yet cuz he's 3 and left it on the couch in our living room.

I was disappointed at first when I saw the size, but when you look inside the content is amazing for a kid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Airport Adventure, June 13, 2011
This review is from: Richard Scarry's A Day at the Airport (Pictureback(R)) (Paperback)
A reader of this book will discover that there is more to an airport than planes taking off and landing. From the time the passenger arrives there are many activities taking place. A young reader of this book will look for the many "helpers" that make an airport function.

This book is great. It's funny. My son watching this book for a long time and He even "reads" it himself. He laughs every time, looking at the pig, which is trying to catch his hat on each page.

5.0 out of 5 stars fun story and pictures, October 14, 2010

This review is from: Richard Scarry's A Day at the Airport (Pictureback(R)) (Paperback)
I gave this book to my nearly 3yr old on an airplane to help pass time. There is a lot to look at in the pictures so your child may take time enjoying it over and over, but it could also be overwhelming to a tot. My daughter really liked it, but didn't "read" it for as long as I would have liked on the plane.
