Like many, I would have given this product a 1 star review too, but something told me not to do it. Something told me this is one of those stupid things where you realize it is you who is the dummy and not the product. The way this organizer works is that there is a flap that you slide under your bed, and the unit is supposed to stay in place. But like many have reported, once you add items and weight to it, the flap starts to slide out. There is not enough friction or pressure from the bed. I figured I could use some sort of large clip against the side of the rail, Velcro, double sided tape, etc. But decided to take a closer look at the product itself. I found out that at the end of the flap hidden inside the fabric is a thin bar. Well I felt this bar before, but never paid much attention to it. I just thought it's there so the flap won't be completely flimsy. I decided that there might be a purpose to it. I had a hunch. So I bent it and sure enough, I was right!! It's bendable wire/bar!! I think the purpose is for you to create traction for your bed. I bent a few V-grooves, you know like the peaks and valleys of a Chinese hand fan. Now when you place it under your bed, you've got traction. I've added weight to the organizer and it stays in place.

Now there are no instructions. Makes me wonder if my discovery is an unintentional benefit. If the intention of the "hidden" bendable bar is to allow you to create traction, then why were there no instructions? So many people are giving this product 1 star reviews because this feature, intentional or not, is not obvious. In any case, follow my tip and you'll get good use out of this organizer.

I'm quite happy with this purchase. It keeps my bedside organized and is helpful when waking up in the middle of the night to know exactly where my tissues/glasses/cellphone are...instead of blindly grabbing at the nightstand. It stays relatively out of sight. Great for organizing a cluttered nightstand. I would give it 5 stars for functionality. The only complaint I have is that if the contents you place inside are too heavy, it has a tendency to slip from between the mattresses and sit on the floor. A few bobby pins keeps it in place.

This caddy is and isn't as described. The compartments are the size shown, it has the mesh pockets as shown and is really easy to setup. The problem is that it isn't very firm or self-supporting. Unless it is full (as the picture shows) the caddy tends to fold in on itself, making it difficult to reach items toward the bottom or in the mesh pockets. Furthermore, if using bed coverings that are longer than the sides of the mattress (which 99% of bed coverings are) then the openings for all of the pockets are covered. Adding these two issues together means that sometimes the caddy isn't really usable. Last reason I said it was flimsy, if you fill it up with books or other items so that it isn't folded in on itself, there is the problem with weight. It WILL slide out from the mattress if what is in the caddy is heavier than the mattress. Anyone in a dorm type situation knows that the mattresses aren't that durable to begin with, so keep weight in mind when determining what to put in it.

From the image I made a false assumption that this item was made from canvas; it's in fact made from some nasty-smelling synthetic that just won't stop giving off fumes. At fist I assumed that the smell had to do with being inside its plastic packaging and needing to air out, but I've had it outside for a week now and the strong chemical smell won't go away. I bring it inside and you can smell it throughout the room. I was hoping to use this by my son's bed, but I can't put something in his bedroom that gives off this kind of chemical fumes.

I gave it two stars (instead of one) to give credit that it arrived promptly and looks just like the picture.

I'm hoping I can find one somewhere made from canvas. This item doesn't belong next to a sleeping child's face!

This caddy fits a regular size box of kleenex, books, cell phone, glasses, and all my remotes. I love it. It is sturdy and great looking. Recommend for all that "stuff" you have sitting on bedside tables!

I purchased this item for my Dad who is gravely ill. I am impressed with the quality (considering the price is low). We found no evidence of the odor referenced in other reviews, which would be a concern because Dad is particularly sensitive to smells. In Dad's case, I wanted the caddy to hang from his bedside hospital table. In order to make this happen, we used carpet clips suspended from rubber straps that are secured on the table base. It doesn't budge even a little. We are very pleased.

The caddy slipped out from between my mattress and box spring as soon as I placed it so I made an adjustment to it. I applied Velcro dots to the caddy and box spring and now it stays in place and I am able to use it.

Its great for storing magazines and my glasses when I go to sleep. Instead of putting a tissue box in its spot, I run my charger cords through for my cell phone and MP3 player.
