I needed a new tie and belt organizer that I could hang rather than screwing into the wall, so I ordered three from Amazon: Walnut Tie Rack With Swivel Hook, this walnut tie rack shaped like shirt hanger, and Twirl-a-Tie Organizer. I already owned a vertical style hanger like the Non-slip Tie & Belt Valet.

My recommendation is for either the walnut rack on swivel hook or this walnut rack shaped like a shirt hanger, depending on your needs.

The Twirl-a-Tie is just a gimmick. Made of ugly plastic, its hooks are not spaced far enough apart, so you can use only every other hook or mash your ties together. Even using only every other hook, the ties are still crushed between the hooks at the inside. I would buy the Twirl-a-Tie only if I knew a small boy who owned some ties and wanted a hanger. It is too bulky to be used for travel.

The walnut tie rack on swivel hook is sturdy and decent-looking, although not something to show off. It will accept 22 ties on its 22 hooks, which are sized and spaced adequately. It is easy to get the ties on and off the hooks, and the hooks are long enough to hang belts on the end in addition to the ties. Drawbacks: (1) it does not swivel easily and must be removed from the closet to pick a tie; (2) it is wide and the hooks push into the clothes on either side; (3) it is long and your ties may dangle onto things if the floor of your closet is stacked high.

I had a 10 tie or belt hook hanger for years. Needed more spaces. I purchased this based on the description and reviews. It looked like it would do the job and do it well.

Point one: The swivel slots for the ties or belts work great. They are a little snug when first moving them, but don't fight you that bad. One of the reasons I gave it 3 stars (I say 3 1/2 but that isn't an option) is the tie clips. They are VERY snug when inserting your ties. I was worried the ties may be damaged at first. This type of device shouldn't hold it tight as if a shipping company is going to be throwing it in piles, in trucks, and in airplanes. No reason to make it very hard to get in and out.

Point two. The main hanger hook, on mine anyway, does NOT swivel. When trying to find the tie or belt you think fits best, you can't rotate the hook and hang it on a shelf to look at your inventory. A lot of the reviews stated it had a swivel hook. Either mine doesn't, or it is the one that has a defective hook. This point doesn't bother me nearly as much. So what. I shove the shirts aside and figure it out.

Otherwise, it's a great way to save space for those of us with a collection of ties or handkerchiefs and not a ton of space.

I rarely write reviews, but it seems every other review misses the intended design of this rack, so I felt compelled to offer this input. The clips are too tight to slide the tie all the way under - correct - no need to complain about this OR manually bend them open. Simply slide the edge of your tie under the edge of the clip with just a little push - it doesn't take much to get a small pinch. Likewise, the tie should be balanced and isn't likely to go anywhere, so a small pinch is all that's needed to keep the ties in place as you pull the rack off the shelf to look for a tie. I've done this a dozen times and not a tie has slipped off. This is a perfectly good design and it's so easy to use, I can't believe people are sending it back or pulling out their pliers. I'll put a picture up to show how it should be used. Picture on the right, or at http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/permalink/mo2EWKVULKH9KK/B000A68E48/ref=cm_ciu_images_pl_link

I have purchased or been gifted several similar items, and until I got one of these I still kept my ties folded in a drawer.
The ties stay on this without falling off, which has been a problem for me with other solutions. It is easy to pull in and out of the closet without catching the ties on other things. It doesn't crush the ties. Those are my 3 top requirements, and this is the best hanger-type product at all three.

Very nice tie hanger. The metal clips were a bit too closed so ties could not slide in easily but with a small screwdriver or any tool you can just adjust the opening for the tie to fit perfect! And after adjusting it to your taste it is very easy to put and get ties. Fits nicely in any closet and it is easy for my husband to turn around to select the tie he wants. All ties can be seen without problem. Nice tie organizer. Thanks.

The discription was accurate and the quality of the product was good. However, it is impossible to slide a tie into the chrome holders, they are just too tight. It might work for a thin, cheap tie, but any tie of quality and thickness will not fit in the slots.

Absolutely terrible. It is impossible to insert the tie into the clips. If you have silk ties, there is a very good chance the clips will tear them. They are extremely tight, and you can't make much space for the tie by pulling the clip with your fingers. The clip metal is thick, and it is not elastic at all.
I do not understand how this product has many positive reviews. Yes, it looks nice, but it will mar the tie, if not ruin it, when you insert and pull the tie.
