5.0 out of 5 stars Love It!!!
I can't tell you how much I love this!!! Took me about 15 minutes to unpack it and put it together! NO TOOLS just drop in the pins and put the lock caps on! Excellent Quality!

The only down fall that I have is that the gate has adjustable feet but the panels don't. I will call them tomorrow, I am sure can get the adjustable feet for the other panels...

Soooooooo, I'm disappointed in this product but I'm going to try doing a little engineering to improve it's functionality. My problems are as follow:

And the other thing I wished I could have got espresso color to match the rest of the wood in my house.

Oh I only needed 5 panels, but I ordered the 6 panel. It would have cost more to order the 4 panel and add a panel, I realized that if I can add a panel I can take one off. And now I have the extra panel if I need it.

Soooooooo, I'm disappointed in this product but I'm going to try doing a little engineering to improve it's functionality. My problems are as follow:

1. I have 3 dogs all over 75 lbs and all pretty darn smart.

2. I have the 6 panel set up in an "L" shape. My dogs are able to push the part where the gate connects to the 2 adjacent panels. The flexing of the joints result in a gap between the last panel and the wall and out they go to chew up rolls of paper towel and stinky flipflops (not the clean nice ones.)

3. After I set up a heavy object to block the flexing action(which was of minimal success) they just used their noses to lift the gate (like I do with my hand).

Has anyone come up with a work-around for these issues? I was thinking rubber door stops for the flexing and pushing and some sort fo thumb latch for the gate lifting issue.

Other than that, the product was easy to put together and it looks very nice. It even matches my kitchen cabinets.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very functional yet looks nice., January 10, 2011

We use this to block our puppy (who is 6 lbs now and will be ~25lbs) in the kitchen. The design looks very nice in the house instead of a big plastic gate. This is also one of the few we could find that was wide enough to fit our large opening between rooms. We use it mostly in the "w" shape but it is easy to convert to another configuration. It took no more than 15 minutes to put together and configure (and that was with my puppy's "help") Easy to open gate but the puppy definitely can't escape or knock it over. Would definitely recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Chihuahua Rancher, April 2, 2011

Works great. It is heavy and awkward to move but I guess that is a good thing. I looks nice and is sturdy. It works well in keeping both my chihuahuas and great dane out of the dining room. If you have dogs that jump on things this might not be the gate for you because it is free standing. It can stand up to normal bumps and such but won't hold up well to a dog who wants to get to the other side.

4.0 out of 5 stars great for wide, hard to gate spaces, March 17, 2011

This review is from: Richell 3-in-1 Convertible Elite Pet Gate, 6-Panel (Misc.)
We bought this gate to help contain our new shepherd mix puppy. Our downstairs is very open so we needed a wide gate. We actually were able to split it up and use 4 panels in one location and 2 in another which has worked out great. The gate is stable as long as you put in in a zig-zag formation.

We tried it as a pen but unfortunately our pup figured out how to climb over it. She is able to get her front shoulders over the top and then put her back paws on the bottom wire. She doesn't attempt this when we use it as a gate but if your dog is a climber you may take that into consideration.

Otherwise it looks nice and works well.

Exactly what I needed to keep my blind dog from falling in the pool! Super easy to assemble and use. The gate is a little too easy to open if your dog is the clever type. A nudge will pop it open, or a paw between the bars can do it too... but for puppies, older dogs, its great. Looks nice too.

We have two large German Shepherds that are used to small guard gates. We were very leary of this one being sturdy and fitting the wide space we needed to block off. It was so easy to put together and with the multiple setup configurations you can make it fit any width perfect. It is very sturdy and looks very nice. We love it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Handsome & does the job, February 2, 2011

If your dogs are the sort that push their limits and throw themselves at the gates; or if they're skilled jumpers (I had a small greyhound bitch that could jump 5 foot x-pens once) you'll need something a lot sturdier or taller (I recommend x-pens and bungie cords if you don't want something permanant, but they're pretty ugly.) It's also NOT toddler safe--so if what you really need is a dog-and-very-small-child barrier do not get this, unless you have the most obedient, coordinated rug rat in creation.

On the other hand, my two large dogs (greyhound, black lab x) are relatively mild mannered, and don't jump, so this barrier works a treat. It covers, without ugly attachments, a very large (110 inches) off-center opening at the front of my house. I had to purchase the original gate + one extender panel to cover the area securely: I have nothing I can attach either end to, so it has to be able to stand freely. The fact that it has a built-in doorway in the center makes it perfect--it's easy to use and swings freely in either direction.

The cherry wood finish is really pretty, the black plastic-coated wire looks nice: my entry way no longer looks like doggy-jail. As an added bonus: the open work mesh design and highly laquered finish means you can drape all your damp snow-gear across the surface to dry without damaging the gate. It also assembled quickly and easily.

Best of all, whenever I need to vacuum I can shift it one-handed out of the way to work, then slide it back into place--this gate is both light and sturdy: A great product!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected, July 16, 2011

This pet gate is as described only better! The picture does not do it justice. My son assembled it in just a few minutes and it looks like a beautiful piece of furniture and the wood blends in with my furniture.

It is definitely not flimsy. It is very stable and sturdy and I love it.

It is also tall enough to keep my jumping Chihauhua from going into the living room. Pricey but worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars SIMPLE, ELEGANT & STURDY, June 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased this pet gate for several reasons:

1. It looked sturdy

2. I have 4 dogs that I want to keep out of my living room

3. Wanted something that looked elegant

4. Wanted something easy to put together

5. Did not want all wood pickets as my dogs chewed on the last all wood gate that I purchased + I had to throw it out it looked so bad.

Well I got it all with this product and I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs to keep their pets containted. I also like the fact that it can double up as a pen as well.

I have used the product for a while now and it is holding up very well (I first bought the smaller gate to try it out). Dogs cannot chew on the metal fencing so it looks like new. Gate is very easily converted to larger or smaller openings and/or turned into a pen when needed.
