Although For Richer or Poorer was not a big success at the box office it is one of my favorite Tim Allen movies. It is a real classic and I think definately one of his best films. I was also drawn to the fantastic score by Randy Edelman. The themes get in your head and make you want to be in Amish country. It is a good mix of classical music and a mix of contemporary, jazz, folk, and country elements are apparent. Also if you've seen the movie you know when the funny parts are and you can connect that time in the movie with the music. Such as when Brad is being dragged by Big John in the field, and when he comes back sunburnt for his "favorite dish." Also the wild goose chase between Brad, Caroline, and Insp. Derek Lester and his IRS comrade. The music will also remind you of the more heartwarming scenes such as Samuel and Brad's marital talk and when Brad and Caroline finally work out their differences and fall back in love. You'll smile when you here this music and remember all the highlights. A great score and a great movie and well worth adding to your collection of movie scores!
