Stellar recording!,

Mono digital mastering of tenor sax legend Kamuca has never sounded better. Recorded 6.1957 in Hollywood, VSOP makes this available again and, as always, VSOP never fails to disappoint, nor does Kamuca. In my book, Kamuca never got his paid his due and was always, always underappreciated. Here, he is joined by Carl Perkins on piano, Leroy Vinegar on bass and Stan Levey on drums. It's all a match made in heaven, overflowing with that wonderful 50's West Coast vibe. Th is cd is worth the price of admission just to hear "My one and only love" and "Nevertheless" alone.
Outstanding recording. Get it now.

Kamuca plays great jazz with good ideas and sound. If you liked Stan Getz you will very likely enjoy this immensly.
