5.0 out of 5 stars Brings the uncorporeal undead to life, July 12, 1998
This review is from: Van Richten's Guide to Ghosts (AD&D/Ravenloft Accessory RR5) (Paperback)
This book is perhaps the best of the VR's Guides because it has a compleat catalog about this fiends. "Van Richten" includes too his experiences with the ghosts and related texts. The subject of the book, uncorporeal spirits, are fascinating for beeing an undead chained to the normal life, as VR explains, to finish a task or because they're linked to a place, a person or an event. To finish a RPG game with ghosts, the players have to search for clues (the history of the ghost), like a detective or mystery stories. That means to know much about human beings (love, passion, hate, desire, vengeance) and feel the sense of tragedy and deception that are the mark of Ravenloft Games.
