Fantastic pianism, but don't buy it...., October 4, 2008

... unless this box sells for $200 or less. Instead, buy the re-release of this collection plus more: 11 volumes of 2 CD sets "Richter the Master", e.g.
Vol. 1: Beethoven - Piano Sonatas, published jointly by Decca and Philips. Richter might not be everybody's favorite pianist, but all would agree that he is one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century. His playing carries such level of intensity that I have never heard from any other pianists. This collection is without doubt piano playing and music making at the highest level.
