Book Description

What you are about to read will astound you. Not merely for the fact this is happening in Florida, but that Florida is only the worst-case scenario of what is taking place in states all over the country: perversely conservative governors bent on breaking the rules and harming the citizens. They do this by destroying public education while robbing them of their public institutions, and turning these over to their pals in the corporate world.
So strap yourself in Sunshine. This is a journey that will take you, like a hostage being driven dangerously around an occupied war zone, through our God-awful elections that put this angular, vaguely-human opportunist in the governor’s mansion.
From there we’ll travel through his first year in office, and witness some of the outrageous moves that were made by he and his cohorts to attack teachers, the disabled, the unions, members of the middle class, all the while slashing the regulations which protect Florida.
We think you’ll find the ride entertaining, funny at times, and scary as hell at others if we’ve done our job right.
We will also ask ourselves who he is, what he’s doing here. We’ll also look at how this character fits into a wider picture: the corporate subjugation of America.

This book is amazing! Although it's a little scary at times because of all the things you don't realize you didn't know, I couldn't help but become engrossed! I would recommend this book to anyone who cares about Florida - and about it's future! This is a MUST READ!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Flirting with Fascism with Rick Scott February 18, 2012

Florida has a long tradition of poor judgement when electing
governors and the legislature. 60% of the legislature runs unopposed in elections.
We have one political party in Florida...much like Germany in 1933.
I am sure Herr Scott admired the ideas of the Führer and wanted to use then in Florida. The Führer used slave labor to build all kinds of things in Germany and Herr Scott wanted PRISON INDUSTRIES to install factories in the private prisons so six days a week men and women could work for ten cents an hour to build consumer and industrial goods. Just like the Führer did!
The Führer made Unions illegal and Scott agrees with that.
Herr Scott just lowered the minimum wage paid to waiters and watresses as he feels anything over $2.00 plus tips is too much money to women and men who do this work.

Unfortunately most Florida voters will not read this book and will vote for the same Nazi's again.

3.0 out of 5 stars A good start June 10, 2012

Eeee, it pains me to criticize this book. I can't put it down simply because I empathize with everything the author says. But the grammar is slack, opinions far outweigh facts, and the tone is really aggressive toward the reader.

What the author speaks to is actually happening, however. I wish it would be redone so it could be more accessible. I am constantly anticipating a highlight to share on Facebook, but can't because the writing style is slightly embarrassing. So I'm left longing to share the truth with friends but unwilling... :-(

1.0 out of 5 stars Liberal babble June 22, 2012
I couldn't muster the strength to read past the first couple of pages, written purely from a one sided perspective, without solid facts at that...
