I have the black bag, and have had it get wet with no running ink or dye problems.I really love this little toiletry bag. I put my toothbrush, 2 oz tube of toothpaste and dental floss on one side of the bag. On the other side mesh pocket I put a tube of hair styling gel and a tube of hand cream/lotion. Inside the bag there is a removable caddy that can hang in the shower that has space for three more 3oz bottles- shampoo, conditioner, and liquid soap for body wash/laundry. The two other pockets inside the main compartment hold my wonderful Braun Pocket Go travel razor (you have to get one) and my deodorant. There is another pocket inside the flap that folds over to close the bag, and I place flatter things like q-tips, bandages, match books and other items. There is a flat zippered compartment in the back where I put a flat LCD travel alarm clock, universal sink stopper and a flexoline for drying clothes. I love the removable caddy. You can take that our right away when you get to the hotel room and hang that up in the shower. There is an indestructible hard plastic shaving/makeup mirror in it that just won't scratch. If you're the kind of person who explodes all over your hotel's sink area when you unload your full arsenal of personal care products and are rethinking hauling half a drug store with you when you travel, this little bag will thrill you. The maids that come into my bathroom have nothing to do- all that's in there is a caddy hanging from the shower head with 3 bottles in it and the main bag hanging from the towel bar with everything else in it. I don't usually hostel it, but if I did, this is the only bag to do it in. Simple and compact, I'd go into those communal bathrooms, do my thing and get out ASAP! My deepest satisfaction is holding that little bag knowing that in it there are enough products to shower and wash my hair, brush and floss my teeth, shave, apply deodorant, clean my ears, apply lotion to my body, do my laundry, dry it and wake me up on time. And I even have some space left- how do you like them apples? I highly recommend this bag. The mesh design to allow things to dry quickly, the wonderful simplistic design and overall packability make it a PLEASURE to travel with it. I was tempted to get the larger version and am glad I didn't- there is more than enough space in this little bag to get me through a months worth of travel and back home looking good.

This is a very handy toiletries kit - the shape fits in my luggage easily. Love the hanging hooks, the shower insert.... easily tall enough for full-size deodorant (why don't deodorant companies ever make travel-size in the UNSCENTED??? but that's another issue, LOL). I'm a low maintenance kinda gal though; I packed some Bare Minerals makeup, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, comb, makeup brushes... also fit in a Bare Minerals boxed kit (still in the box to try). Had sanitary supplies, toothpaste, toothbrush - those outside pockets are really handy for them - also a lash curler, face lotion... anyway, more than I usually carry. It was perfect for me! The materials also seemed very durable, easy to to wipe off, great-sized zipper pull. That being said - having seen women in the locker room... many ladies may prefer the larger (9") version. After submitting this review, I'll add a "customer image" of all the stuff that fit in mine (the 7").

The Rick Steves Travelin' 7" Toiletries kit is the best I've come across in years of travel. It's many, well-designed compartments and features have been designed by a traveler for people who travel. I highly recommend it.

Europe with all you need in a carry-on.,

My husband and I traveled recently to Europe for 3 weeks with only a carry-on bag each. It was wonderful getting to and from the airports and train stations with little extra weight. This travel toiletries bag was a central part of being able to pack light. Each of us had one of these. Everything each of us needed in the bathroom fit into this bag. The handy fullsized hook meant being about to hand the bag in any bathroom, leaving the small vanity/sink space free of clutter and making it easy for the maid to clean each day without our stuff being in the way. The smaller shower caddy from inside was a special help in some of the very small showers. There was always someplace to hang it within easy reach while showering.

This is the best little toiletries kit ever!!! I have been living out of it day to day ever since I got it, even at home, because it really just helps keep things simple and together. Plus, I'm ready to go at the drop of a pin... no more worrying about packing up the bathroom stuff every time we are going on a little trip or need to shower at the gym.The inside pouch that you can pull out and take in the shower with you is the best- it has a hanger on it, so no more setting your stuff down in dirty shared shower stalls at gyms, campsites, or hostels. The three slots on this shower-pouch are big enough to accommodate most 3oz (or slightly larger) bottles and there are elastic loops to attach more bottles/ a razor. I'm a pretty finicky twenty-something female and I can live out of this bag for over a month without having to worry about running out of anything. This was, by far, our best purchase for our month long backpacking trip. To avoid the 'bleeding' problem that other reviewers have described, I washed the bags several times through full cycles in the washing machine before using them and we've never had any issues with bleeding. I highly suggest everyone else do the same to prevent that problem.

I had shampoo leak while in this bag. It soaked one side of the bag, and the red dye on the bag leaked through onto my clothes. We were on a trip and we had to buy replacement clothes. When we got home we soaked the garments for almost two days and the red dye finally disappeared. I of course, stopped using the bag

great for hostels,

I took this on a 3 week trip through Europe while staying in hostels and it proved to be VERY convenient. I couldn't have done without the small hook on the inside to hang it in the shower.

Nice for traveling when space is limited (packing and well as small rooms)Easy to see and hard to lose. Holds enough for most men that do not use hair products. Would buy again and recommend for men.

I travel frequently, so a good shaving kit is mandatory. This kit has plenty of room inside but is also compartmentalized well enough so things don't shift around. The side pockets are tall enough for a razor with room to spare. The inside is tall enough for a toothbrush and has a few pockets to hold smaller items. There's also a zipper pocket on the back. It has a hook on the lid for easy hanging. Best kit bag I've owned.
