5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent price and quality
At first it didn't work with my 2.4x Memorex DVD+R/+RW writer (RICOH rebadged drive), but after I flashed it, it worked great! The media code for these DVD+Rs are RITEKG03. They are branded silver and the bottom is purple. These are a great deal (...).

2.0 out of 5 stars Not work for Philips SDVD6004
My DVD drive is Philips SDVD6004(firmware 1.06). The drive is installed in Dell Dimension 4600C and some inspiron notebooks. I failed in buring first 6 discs. There's no singal example of success bruing. So I give up. But other bands (HP, Khypermedia, Verbatim) work perfect for my case. Maybe only crap discs from CMC match the crap Philips burnner.

Unfortunately, I didn't get 4x speed, and it's not such a great price for 2.4x dvds. I'm using a NEC 1100a DVD+RW drive. Of course, YMMV, but I'm returning them.

Purchased 150 DVDs, not a single coaster. Works well with NEC 2510A writer.

I used to buy 25-packs of these all the time with only a problem with a few of them. Just after Christmas I bought a 50-pack of them. After the first dozen, the rest wouldn't work at all in my Akai stand-alone burner, or the plextor burner on my computer. Other brands are working fine in them so it's NOT the machines or firmware. I bought a 25-pack last month because I didn't have problems with them before. About 2 out of every 3 of the 25-pack have problems with dropouts, skips, freezes, locking up the players, or didn't record at all. They definitely downgraded their quality, or are shipping out more of that "bad batch".

Too many "disc errors" when trying to use them in a Philips DVD
recorder. Most other dvd+r/rw discs worked fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good stuff, January 26, 2005
This review is from: Ridata DVD+R 4x 25-pack Spindle (Electronics)
I just bought a new computer with a dvd burner built in so i wanted to try it out. I was advised to buy these first and they worked great. I've bought 2-50 packs and have only messed up about 1 disc from each pack. So that seems pretty good to me. Maybe the other people who gave them bad reviews just had crappy dvd burners. The quality is great and the errors are minimal, and you cant beat the price anywhere.

I bought a 25 pack of Ridata DVD+R media for my DVD+R/RW drive. I tried to record two discs and created two coasters. The same content was written without any problems on to a (even cheaper)Yamakawa DVD+R media and on to a TDK DVD+R media with out any problem. I have a HP 200j DVD writer built in on my HP PC. This is the first time ever I was unsuccessful in creating a copy because of the DVD media. I don't know if it is a comaptibily. I am afraid I am going to create 25 coasters for use all around the house.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ridata DVD+R 4x 25-pack Spindle, September 26, 2004

My DVD writer is HP300N & my player is a Panasonic-F85
I had many problems trying to record with several other name brand discs. Out of a pack of 10, I had a 50% failure rate. I almost gave up recording but decided to perform a firmware update at http://forum.firmware-flash.com/dl_all.php. After the update, I still had a disc failure rate of about 2 out of 10, which was a lot better than 50%! But things really seem to click when I purchased a 25 pack of these Ritek "Branded" discs. I did not have one (1) coaster! I thought it was a fluke and purchased another 25 pack. Still no coasters! I then started purchasing in the 100 pack spindles. Out of 250 discs I finally had one (1) coaster. One coaster out of 250 discs to me is a wonderful performance record! And they play "beautifully" in my DVD player! Ritek finally has a winner in these discs (at least for my finicky DVD writer). The prices have dropped tremendously and I can't wait until their Single-Sided Duel Label discs drop in price. I can then record a movie with little or no compression using my same writer!

I've got discs with media code RICOHJPN-R01. Worked great at 4x in NEC-1100A, and at 8x in Liteon 851S w/hacked firmware. From what I read here most people got RITEK media code which is lower quality, so YMMV.
