G04's are some of the best media,
By
This review is from: Ridata DVD-R 4x 25-pack Spindle (Electronics)
I've burned about 100 of these without one error, either in the write process on my NEC-1300A, nor in playback on my computer or in my cheapo Toshiba dvd player. I use fast forward and rewind a lot, as I'm an impatient movie watcher, so these have been put through some hard work.I had some problems with Memorex media, but then I read the reviews on videohelp.com. Hundreds of customer reviews are listed there, and you can match your exact burner to exact media for reviews of success and conpatibility. Ritek (or Ridata) G04's like these routinely get the highest ratings. They are in a class above any blank media you are likely to buy off a shelf in an electonics superstore.

You can't beat Ritek's Ridata DVD's !!!,

I've used hundreds of these discs. In my opinion (and you'll find plenty others who agree with me), there are no better DVD's out there. And when you factor in the low cost of these discs, they become an even better deal.I use a Lite-On 4x burner and copy (mostly) with Nero. As far as I know, I've never had a coaster. I did have one bad copy, but I don't think it was the disc's fault. I often record all the way to the edge of the DVD (using all available space) - and I've never had any quality issues with using the full space available. These also seem to play on a LOT of DVD players. However, as many people know, some Sony DVD players are fickle, especially if you attach a lable to the DVD (this goes for any brand of blank DVD media). My advice: stay away from Sony DVD players, and stock up on Ritek's DVD's. I have a Yamaha, a 5-disc Phillips, and some $30 no-name brand from Circuit City. All three players play these discs perfectly. And if you're still skeptical, just but a pack of 25 and give them a try. You won't use anything else.

I've gone through 125 of these DVD-Rs by Ridata, and so far the burn success rate has been 100%. Not only did the burned discs play in my Apple computer, it also worked on two other DVD players (a Sony 5 disc DVD player and a Toshiba SD1200). I burned my discs using Apple's iDVD software which came bundled with the computer; While burning, I even used the computer to surf the web, and noticed the DVDs were burned perfectly without any problems <although that's probably a testament to the awesome G5 rather than the Ridatas =)>. I'd highly recommend them! (I just placed an order for another 50!)

Great affordable media,

I just received my 25 pack of these Ridata 4x dvd-r's and I'm VERY impressed so far... in fact I just ordered another 50.(I recently tried some of those "grade A" dvd-r's that lots of people are selling on the internet, and while they do burn at their rated speed of 4x, 99.99% of the burned dvd's won't play back on any dvd player I own, including the drive they were burned with.) With this in mind, I decided to try the Ridata brand of Ritek dvd's. My dvd-r/+r/-rw/+rw burner has been a bit sensitive to the media it will burn and so far every one of these Ridata discs have burned perfectly & at a max speed of 4.0x. BTW: A normal 2x dvd-r burns 4gb+/- in about 30 minutes, these 4x dvd-r discs burn the same 4gb+/- in about 15 minutes!! I almost couldn't believe a quality 4x dvd-r could be found for about sixty cents a disc without buying them by the truckload. The only complaints I have are:

I got 2 packs of these few weeks ago. So far I got 1 coaster for my first pack and 3 coasters for my second pack. I have used NEC 2500A burner 1.07 firmware to burn these DVDs at 4X using DVD shrink and Negro. In the past, I have burned successfully 50 pack Ridata 4x DVD-R without any coaster.

Slow and Bad,
This review is from: Ridata DVD-R 4x 25-pack Spindle (Electronics)
It can only burn at 1x-2x that used with RecordNow and at 2x-4x with Nero6. And I have also found 6 bad disks so far after 12 attemps in which 4 of those I can physically see the scratches and purple spots hidden behind the surface. the reasons i gave it 2 stars because of its price and spindle box instead of in cup cake oem version like other online sellers. Honestly, I've been sucessfully burned with 4x with very low % disk failure with Ritek before where I got them as an oem cupcake version. And don't get me wrong 'cause I could be an unlucky one with this spindle...
