The Good
"Hop Along Chastity" is dominated by a single note and twisted sense of humor. The vocals are a little reminiscent of Mick Jagger's during the Rolling Stone's more experimental songs. A foot-tapping drum beat and fuzzy guitar lick heads the charge on "Big Ass Bass." What avid fisherman can't relate to this? "Naughty Corner" is quite clever. On the one hand the music is upbeat, but on the other hand it's about armed robbery and murder. "Flat Out First Gear" is full of 70s rock fuzz and cock-sure vocals. "Mustache Riders" refers to exactly what you think it does. The chorus is so addictive and the lyrics are so funny you won't want the western-flavored track to ever end. "D is for Chet" is the tale of an odd individual that leaves the ladies itching for more (or maybe just inching).

The Bad
The album has a couple of slow/boring points along the way.

The Verdict
I'd like to sum up Ride the Boogie in one simple term, but I can't. The group can jam, they can rock, they can be trippy, they can be all over the place, and they can be fall on your ass funny; all in the span of a half-an-hour. Just don't take them too seriously. Expand your mind and just Ride the Boogie.
