I listened to this once and now can't stop listening! Christy Moore has a great voice and is a fantastic balladeer. Wonderful! After hearing this CD, I bought every Christy Moore CD I could find. We're off to see him in Berlin in October - get this CD; you won't regret it!

This is one of Christy Moore's best CD performances. He has a way of making you feel that you are hearing him live. This CD is one of his best alltime performances.

Nice set by the great Christy Moore whose own words say it best:
"McIlhatton you blurt we need you, cry a million shaking men Where are your sacks of barley, will your likes be seen again? Heres a jig to the man and a reel to the drop and a swing to the girl he loves May your fiddle play and poitín cure your company up " McIlhatton

I've been listening to Christy Moore for over 20 years, collecting CD's that would be currently released at any one time.
My first album purchased was a cassette (in Dublin) of "Ordinary man". So naturally I believed the 1989 recording to be the first. Now that I've bought all the "current" music I started working backwards and discovered this 1984 recording on Amazon, and can appreciate that the true Christy Moore sound started much earlier than "Ordinary Man". Anyone who appreciates Christy's music or would like an early introduction to it should purchase this album. His voice and arrangements are more true to his style than any of his albums with Planxty or Moving Hearts. I highly reccommend this album.

This guy is about as anti-American as you can get. He sings America, You Are not the World aka Burning. The lyrics are in part:
"America your head's too big, Because America, Your belly's too big And I love you, I just wish you'd stay where you is But where the president, Is never black, female or gay, And until that day You've got nothing to say to me, To help me believe" Any self respecting American Patriot should never buy any of this pornography. |
