3.0 out of 5 stars Ghetto Romeo & Juliet
This ghetto fairy tale would be great teenage fiction if it weren't for the sex and the bad portrayal of young love. I would hate for a young person, more specifically a young lady to read this and believe this is what true love should be. This ghetto fairy tale would be great teenage fiction if it weren't for the sex and the bad portrayal of young love. I would hate for a young person, more specifically a young lady to read this and believe this is what true love should be. Three out of the four main men in this book are controlling, demeaning, and very jealous. Briefly and in very few instances did this novel even shed light on what a true loving relationship should be. With that said, it is definitely love at first sight for Mercedes, and Dalvin seems equally infatuated. Their relationship progresses rather quickly and they soon realize their fathers are enemies and Mercedes is forbidden to ever see Dalvin again. Needless to say, she doesn't obey her father and spineless mother. This urban adaptation of Romeo and Juilet mirrors the original in many ways, luckily suicide is only mentioned and not carried out. This novella will definitely take you on a wild ride and I can guarantee you will be rooting for Mercedes almost the entire time. She is still a teenager so she does make a some mistakes.

5.0 out of 5 stars young love, February 9, 2012
This review is from: Ride Wit' Me (Kindle Edition)
This book is about a young teen age couple who go through some tough times having to deal with Mercedes' parents. The two teens love one another and won't let anybody get in between until something reckless happens (you'll have to read the book to see what happens to the young teen age couple). I liked this book because it is full of drama between parents and ex girlfriends, which is something I can relate to being a 16 year old girl. I would recommend this book to you if you find most books boring - you will not be able to put this book down once u start reading it!

RIDE WIT ME was SOOOOOOO GOOD, with a GREAT STORY-LINE that FLOWED EFFORTLESSLY. Never a DULL MOMENT, read it in 1 sitting. It showed LOVE can CONQUER ALL, even OLD BEEFS. I not only WANT, but NEED to KNOW what happens with DALVIN JR., and MERCEDES RELATIONSHIP. Can't wait for RIDE WIT ME 2 release date. A DEFINITE MUST READ.......................

4.0 out of 5 stars Ride Wit Me, November 12, 2010
This review is from: Ride Wit' Me (Paperback)
I thought Ride Wit Me was pretty good. It kept me reading on and on until the end. I just wanted to see what happened to the main character. As they say, Carma is a Mother.

It's easy reading and it ends well. Not the happy ending like most books but not sad either. I can smell a sequel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read for Teens.(sorta), June 2, 2010

I thought it was a cute read, and I didn't feel as if the sex was that explict. My 16 year old virgin read it and thought it was ok, she only felt like why did he have to be a drug dealer. I wonder too?? Couldn't the fathers have be rival in the sneaker business or entertainment industy. His son a major rapper and she a r&b star instead of promoting the ilegai bussiness. Other then that, a really good read.

I love the story of this young couple in love. They held it together better that most adult. Her father was trying the give her a life better than the one that he had, but in the end he knew that he had to let her go and live her life or lose their relationship. I love happy endings and this is endearing to my heart.
