3.0 out of 5 stars Outlawz Enter The Independent Game With "Makaveli"-Less LP
I have always been a fan of The Outlawz though I will be the first to admit that it is an "acquired taste". While they are best known for their undying allegiance to their former group leader, Tupac Shakur, they don't quite possesse his charisma or crossover appeal. Though what they lack in stage presence, they make up for in heart. With their very first group...

The Outlawz (minus Hussein Fatal, Kadafi {R.I.P.}, & 2Pac {R.I.P.}) finally dropped a new album on thier own independant label. After label troubles in the time following Pac & kadafi's deaths, they disappeared from the radar fo a few years and came back around in '99. This album has a few guests (mostly their New Jersey homies, with a few big names like Spice 1, TQ, Phats Bossilini, & Bad Azz). Production is handled by Edi amin, Reef, & Quimmy Quim with 2 or 3 songs by Mike Dean & Mr. Lee of Rap-A-Lot records. It has 1 classic and no songs on here that I skip (although about 2 or 3 of the songs are just ok). They show direction from Pac as well as continued dedication to 2Pac through the album as they tell gangsta tales as well as deep songs that really make you feel what they're saying, just as Pac did. A must have rap album.

With their very first group album sans Shakur, they hope to make an impact in his name. This provides an even more difficult task due to the fact that in addition to Pac's absence, two of their most prominent members from their Death Row days, Hussein Fatal and Kadafi are also gone. The latter of which was murdered, just a few months after Shakur. The remaining members, Kastro, Young Noble, Edi, and Napoleon still pack a wallop though.

Upon my first few listens, the one track that always stood out to me was "Goodbye". The Lawz display the same deep and heartfelt "Keep Ya Head Up" mentality as their late mentor on this track. Tracks like "Murder Made Easy" and "Black Rain" also make for memorable highlights. "Smash" featuring Bay Area legend, Spice 1 and the Dogg Pound's Bad Azz provides one of the few tracks with recognizeable names involved.

"Ride Wit Us" takes the Outlawz away from their usual West Coast influence and back to their Jersey backdrop. While the production is not as crisp as that featured on "Still I Rise", the LP certainly has its moments. Outlaw fans will find a CD full of bumping tracks but those with discriminating tastes may be turned off by its lack of commercial music.

4.0 out of 5 stars OUTLAWZ PROVE THEY CAN DO IT WITHOUT 2 PAC, August 18, 2001
By
This review is from: Ride Wit Us Or Collide Wit Us (Audio CD)
I must admit i wasn't sure about buying a outlawz CD without 2pac but now i have it's sitting right at the top of my cd collection along with my 2pac CD'S.Songs like black rain ,goodbye and nobody cares just show how talented these guys are and prove the doubters wrong who said they were nothing without 2pac.The beats are just excellent and the quality of the sound superb the only slight flaw is theres maybe about 2 or 3 songs that are a level behind the rest but the all the other tunes more than make up for that, you can see in alot of the songs they show alot of love for 2pac and kadafi and show there feelings towards them, a must buy for any 2pac/outlaws fan.I think this cd is much better ,harder and realer than any dre, snoop or puff daddy cd ,go out and purchase.

Since pac died 4 years ago, the Outlawz have been putting it down on the low doing their own thing seperatly. AlthOugh there were originally 9 Outlawz(Makaveli,Kadafi,Fatal,Napoleon,Young Noble,E.D.I Min, Castro,Storm,Mussalini). There are only 4(Napolean,Young Noble,Castro,E.D.I. Min) on this album. THey put it down as if there were 30 of dem. Being trained by the greatest rapper of all time(2pac) has put these ... on anther level.Outlaw Immortalz is STILL BALLIN.This album is the begining of big things.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Outlawz- Ride Wit Us or Collide Wit Us CD, September 15, 2009
This review is from: Ride Wit Us Or Collide Wit Us (Audio CD)
The Outlawz Official "First Debut" Following 2pac's death, Cd is Good not great, the rhymes are good as usual, the beats not so. some songs stand out. Spice 1 makes a appearance. Overall Ok, Drop the Communist/Dictator names pac gave them. and it would be better, Kastro? Napoleon later left to find "himself" . He is a muslim. Young Noble, Napoleon, Along with Fatal Who sadly went out on his own. are the best of The Outlawz.

I've got to be honest, I think that Still I Rise was one of the best albums by Pac mostly cuz the Outlawz were also there, so you can imagine my anticipation when I heard the outlawz released another album. This CD is great and every track in it is real tight plus they show respect for Pac almost in every song, which shows they still remember who made them. In conclusion this CD is one of the best to be released this year so go out and buy it!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Outlawz Representin!, February 10, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Ride Wit Us Or Collide Wit Us (Audio CD)
I've been waitin for the Outlawz CD since Still I Rise and when I heard Ride Wit Us Or Collide Wit Us I loved it. The CD is tight as a whole and the rhymes have a great beat and are rapped with heart and soul. The Outlawz put their heart in this one. They're represetin for Pac and Yak for real! If you think the Outlawz can't rap what have you been smokin, fool?! They're keepin it real and I listen to this CD a lot-if there was 4 and a half stars I'd give 'em that. It's not quite as good as Still I Rise but the CD is awesome. RIP Pac and Killah-there's a heaven for a G homies!

3.0 out of 5 stars Outlawz, what happened, November 26, 2000
This review is from: Ride Wit Us Or Collide Wit Us (Audio CD)
I have been waiting for this album since the release of still i rise, and honestly i am very disappointed. The tracks seem rushed and the lawz have lost their originality. I think it's worth listening to but not worth paying for
