This saw is ok as long as you are only cutting 2x4s or the occasional 2x10. I tried ripping down smooth lap siding, and it couldn't even cut in a straight line. And trust me as a lifetime construction worker it is the saw not the user. I do like the light for lighting up the cutting surface in the dark, but it is best suited for 2x4s. It will even have a hard time making it through 2x4s and usually you have to finish the cut from the other side in order to keep the saw from dying half way through the cut. Hope this helps, best of luck to other users.
