Ridgid R963 18-Volt X3 Five Piece Kit includes cordless power tools that out power, out run, outperform and outclass all other 18V tools on the market. The heavy-duty five-piece kit includes an R861150 hammer drill/driver, R864 reciprocating saw, R865 circular saw, R86230 impact driver, R869 work light, two battery packs, two double-ended bits, charger, auxiliary handle assembly, reciprocating saw blade, circular saw blade, operators manuals and heavy-duty contractor bag. The hammer drill/driver has a compact size and lightweight design for extended use. The 1/2-inch single sleeve carbide chuck holds bits tight and secure, while the mode selector allows for quick transitions between driving, drilling or hammering modes without changing the clutch setting. The circular saw features a robust motor that delivers the fastest cutting speed in its class, as well as a magnesium base and upper guard for lighter weight and better durability. The impact driver is equipped with 1450 inch-to-pounds of torque for faster driving and fastening applications, as well as a die cast gear case for extended job site durability. The hammer drill/driver, circ saw and impact driver are all equipped with a LED for illumination of dark work spaces and improved view of cut line. The reciprocating saw features a tool-free blade change that makes changing blades quick and easy, an on/off orbital action that offers faster performance for cutting wood, and an adjustable pivoting shoe for optimal cut control. The work light is equipped with a standard fluorescent bulb to make it easier to find a replacement when needed. The work light also features a pivoting head for optimal lighting angle and a retractable sky hook that hangs the light where you need it.

This particular combo kit has been discontinued by the manufacturer, but it can still be located on-line. The tools in the kit are all upgrades to those tools now sold. Much stronger assembly; less plastic and more hard rubber, etc. You cannot purchase all of the component parts on an individual basis.

I'v been looking for a combo set that has tools that I would actually use and this is by far the best combination I have found in weeks of searching. Most combo packs have one or two key items missing, or you have to pay for one or two Items that you don't really want "and still have to purchase your circular saw seperately!"
Lucky for me, I worked at a Import Distribution warehouse where the maintenance department used Dewalt, RIGID and Ryobi and the RIGID products worked just about as good as the Dewalt. So I knew this investment would be well worth it.
I've used the drill and impact driver allot and the LED lights make getting into tight spots easier to see and the controls on the drill are so well thought out that increasing or decreasing torque is second nature. The side bar selection for function i.e.: Drill, Screw Driver, Hammer Drill is so much easier to use! So far I've used the circular saw to cut through multiple sheets of 3/4 and 5/8 plywood without battery failure or saw crapping out. Of course it doesn't wizz though like a corded saw but where I'm working there's no power for one . It's nice to know that your saw and batteries will work as hard as you do! I am totaly happy with this set. The only complaint I might have is that the Power Drill handle doesn't seem to match the thread pattern of the supplied hex bolt, it feels like Im going to cross-thread it when I try to mount the handle. The set comes with a lifetime warranty, including the batteries, so I'll be sending them a inquiry for the drill handle and we'll see how that goes. I would whole heartedly recommend this combo set! I bought this combo for a kitchen remodel job and love it. Tools are solid, and the batteries last forever! Seriously, the charges on the Lithium Ion batteries last longer than any other technology I've ever owned. I have had Milwaukee, Makita, Porter Cable etc. all with NiCad or NiMh batteries - but this set outlasts them all! The other NiCad batteries only lasted a few years before you had to buy replacements, which cost as much as the tool itself. With a lifetime warranty on both the tools AND the batteries, how can you go wrong? As for the other reviewer saying these are heavy, I guess that depends on your point of reference...my Porter Cable circular is a tank and weighs as much, so these feel feather light by comparison, they are very powerful and have solid construction that should test Ridgid's LIFETIME WARRANTY! BTW, mine came with a snazzy 45 degree twisting Compact Florescent Light (CFL) rather than the light pictured here. The light is free-standing and should last 20 years at least. My only wish is that the set had the matching cordless Jigsaw rather than the compact impact driver (which I don't use that often), but I picked up the jigsaw separately for $89 at HD. I love my Ridgid R963 X3 5 piece 18-V LION tool set...and expect it to last decades! Pick one up today, you won't be disappointed.
