This particular combo kit has been discontinued by the manufacturer, but it can still be located on-line. The tools in the kit are all upgrades to those tools now sold. Much stronger assembly; less plastic and more hard rubber, etc. You cannot purchase all of the component parts on an individual basis.

I'v been looking for a combo set that has tools that I would actually use and this is by far the best combination I have found in weeks of searching. Most combo packs have one or two key items missing, or you have to pay for one or two Items that you don't really want "and still have to purchase your circular saw seperately!"
Lucky for me, I worked at a Import Distribution warehouse where the maintenance department used Dewalt, RIGID and Ryobi and the RIGID products worked just about as good as the Dewalt. So I knew this investment would be well worth it.
I've used the drill and impact driver allot and the LED lights make getting into tight spots easier to see and the controls on the drill are so well thought out that increasing or decreasing torque is second nature. The side bar selection for function i.e.: Drill, Screw Driver, Hammer Drill is so much easier to use! So far I've used the circular saw to cut through multiple sheets of 3/4 and 5/8 plywood without battery failure or saw crapping out. Of course it doesn't wizz though like a corded saw but where I'm working there's no power for one . It's nice to know that your saw and batteries will work as hard as you do! I am totaly happy with this set. The only complaint I might have is that the Power Drill handle doesn't seem to match the thread pattern of the supplied hex bolt, it feels like Im going to cross-thread it when I try to mount the handle. The set comes with a lifetime warranty, including the batteries, so I'll be sending them a inquiry for the drill handle and we'll see how that goes. I would whole heartedly recommend this combo set! I bought this combo for a kitchen remodel job and love it. Tools are solid, and the batteries last forever! Seriously, the charges on the Lithium Ion batteries last longer than any other technology I've ever owned. I have had Milwaukee, Makita, Porter Cable etc. all with NiCad or NiMh batteries - but this set outlasts them all! The other NiCad batteries only lasted a few years before you had to buy replacements, which cost as much as the tool itself. With a lifetime warranty on both the tools AND the batteries, how can you go wrong? As for the other reviewer saying these are heavy, I guess that depends on your point of reference...my Porter Cable circular is a tank and weighs as much, so these feel feather light by comparison, they are very powerful and have solid construction that should test Ridgid's LIFETIME WARRANTY! BTW, mine came with a snazzy 45 degree twisting Compact Florescent Light (CFL) rather than the light pictured here. The light is free-standing and should last 20 years at least. My only wish is that the set had the matching cordless Jigsaw rather than the compact impact driver (which I don't use that often), but I picked up the jigsaw separately for $89 at HD. I love my Ridgid R963 X3 5 piece 18-V LION tool set...and expect it to last decades! Pick one up today, you won't be disappointed.

My wife bought me this combo kit for Christmas at our local home depot and she was able to purchase it for $499.00! A great deal for what you get considering the individual pieces add up to more. Dewalt had the 6-piece for the same price, but it sold quicker than hot-cakes and I digress because I missed out. The only problem I have with the X3, is all the tools are HEAVY as hell and the drill/driver is off balanced. It is not nice to hold in one hand like the Makita! The X3 drill/driver is just as heavy as my corded ridgid drill. The main reason for purchasing a cordless kit was having something lighter that I could work with and carry around. And, on the Ridgid site they do not mention the weight, at least at the time of this writing. Do not get me wrong, the tools are damn powerful and maybe I am asking for too much. But what I really wanted with light and powerful and my X3 5-piece combo kit is not that. If weight is not an issue for your then you will be pleased at the share power each tool has and the long battery life. If you want light, then this is not for you.

What do I consider heavy, especially for a hand drill? If my arm starts shaking 45 seconds after holding it out with a straight arm then it is heavy.

This kit was supposed to be refurbished. Upon receipt, I found one of the batteries would not take a charge and the light was inoperable. Then I found out the warranty was only for a year, not the lifetime warranty of the same kit purchased new. I spent the extra $100.00 and bought a new one from Home Depot, and I am very happy with it

My issue is not so much with these current products as with Rigids warranty. I just returned from Home Depot with some of my Rigid products. I was informed that it is NOT a lifetime warranty, only a service agreement. That service agreement is only valid if you register it immediately, and then it is up to Rigid if they will cover it. You have to send them in, through HD, and they will decide if it is covered. I am currently looking at upgrading all my cordless tools to one manufacturer, and am sadly disappointed by what I am finding in customer service. While their products may be okay, their warranty is not what it appears to be. Buyer beware!

The Lifetime battery exchange does not extend to extra batteries that you purchase only the ones that come with the kit.
