For the big stuff, this filter works great. However, if using on projects in the house, spend more and get the Rigid Fine Dust Filter, otherwise, the house will get coated with dust each time you fire up your Rigid shop vacuum, even if you are picking up only the big debris.

Easy to install

It is just the filter, so if you dont have the black plate and little white piece to screw it in place buy those as well.

Works

Some people have had difficulty installing this filter. It seemed that the manufacturer had made minor changes for the filter or the peripheral components. I checked Ridgid's IPC and Googled every part number to make sure that I get the correct parts. The filter, filter cage, float, filter plate and the plate nut fit as they should and the VC is working well.

The part number was correct, but to fit I had to squash the filter to fit the space. Nothing in the instructions indicated that would be necessary.

I purchased this filter to use on my Rigid shop-vac in conjunction with a grinder dust collection device while grinding my concrete floor prior to installing a resilient flooring product. No concrete dust makes it past the filter and I am able to grind virtually dust free inside the house.

The Rigid VF4000 Standard Filter worked well. Like other filters it needed to be cleaned off and have some filthy water dumped out before it could be used again. This product is reliable but expect there to be some maintenance to reuse it.

Filter arrived much quicker than I had anticipated. The filter looked identical to the original product that it was replacing.

It was not a 'close fit' it was an EXACT fit and is of high quality for my
Ridgid shop vac.

This product works well straight out of the box. Installation is simple and price is affordable. My shop vac works like a champ now!

This filter is an improvement over the original one that came with my Sears Craftsman 5 gal Wet Dry Vac. It has a larger surface area and doesn't require the cap and plastic retaining "nut". The instruction clearly state and show this, too. I'm very satisfied and saved much money over the local stores.
