5.0 out of 5 stars The Funnest Workout Around!, February 20, 2007
By
This review is from: Horse Riding Exercise Machine Deluxe -Joba- (Misc.)
OMG. This machine is the closest thing to a real horse you can get in your living room! My curiosity quickly gave way to laughing the first time my husband climbed aboard and turned the speed to "high". You really should read the manual first.

For a workout: It's really a good way to exercise. It takes you uphill, downhill, slow, fast and everything in between. You can set the pace to go slower or faster, and you can set the tilt (uphill, downhill, etc). If you follow the manual, pay attention to your posture, keeping your head and shoulders steady, and grip with your thighs, the workout is felt immediately. If you are sloppy, it will still be a fun ride, but not quite as effective a workout.

After five minutes of riding, I could really feel it in my stomach, pelvis and thighs. And I wasn't even trying to work out! When you sit on it, keeping your body centered and balanced, you subconsciously work muscles that are usually ignored. It has built-in routines for waist, sides, hips. I am pretty sure this machine has the benefit of massaging your internal organs too, but I don't see that written in the manual. Supposed to be good for you though.

This machine is really fun. The manual says not to let kids ride it, and don't ride while intoxicated, etc. My 'tween daughter loves to ride it, and says it relaxes her. My husband likes to pretend he's a bullrider and turns the speed up high, nose down. I'm sure it would be fun to ride while intoxicated, but probably best to stick with the workouts.

We don't use the stirrups that came with it. We didn't attach them. We don't use the handle either. Also, it would be nice if you could set the timer for longer than 15 minutes. It's a bit heavy for a woman to move around, but it doesn't tip or bump when you're on it. We just leave it in one spot.

Our family fights over who gets to exercise next. Great machine overall. You can get your workout while watching TV or visiting. It's way different than exercise bikes or treadmills. I recommend it- big thumbs up!
