4.0 out of 5 stars Give me MORE Westmoreland
Firefighter Storm Westmoreland, or the Perfect Storm as he's called, has a reputation amongst the ladies. He has the ability to make a woman's fantasy a reality. His rep also includes that of not "doing" the same woman twice.
Jayla Cole, the daughter of Storm's late mentor, is tired of looking for a Mr. Right that does not exist. She's long given up on the notion...

3.0 out of 5 stars It was alright
Okay, so far I've read about 5 or 6 Westmoreland books and I have to say that I'm not really feeling Storm like I was feeling the other brothers. Storm is good and all and he's fine but not like his brothers Dare and Chase. I like them much better. BJ didn't really go into too much detail about him being a bad boy as much. But overall, I still love BJ and I know we all...

4.0 out of 5 stars Give me MORE Westmoreland, December 27, 2004
This review is from: Riding The Storm (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
She's long given up on the notion of finding him and living happily ever after. What she wants is a baby without the burden of the child's father.
So what happens when the two find themselves in New Orleans staying at the same hotel? Will Jayla be just another name to add to Storm's ever growing list? Has Jalya found Mr. Right in Storm? As always, Mrs. Jackson has done a wonderful job again! Eager to see which of the remaining Westmoreland men is next.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beware, the Storm has finally arrived., March 4, 2005
By

This review is from: Riding The Storm (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
Brenda Jackson's "Storm" has definitely arrived! For Jayla Cole, her Storm has been brewing for 10 years every since she met firefighter, Storm Westmoreland, when her father, Fire Chief Adam Cole brought him home one evening. Jayla has been smittened since day one. Now 10 years later, Jayla struggles to keep the Storm at bay unaware that Storm is also struggling with his feelings for her. To Storm, Jayla is his ex-boss' baby daughter and Storm promised Adam he would keep watch out for his daughter. Although, Storm is aware that Jayla is no longer a baby or the young teenager he met all those years ago, he still struggles with his feelings.

Their chance meeting in New Orleans, the City of Excitement, is the start of a new beginning. The gales slowly stirs and gradually brews into a roaring storm, one that envelopes them both -- Jayla falls through the "eye of the storm" and Storm is there to catch her when she lands -- right into his arms.

Storm Westmoreland is what every woman dreams of and that is what Jayla is afraid of. She knows that the women refer to Storm as "The Perfect Storm." She does not want to be another "limb" hurled through the wind and get caught in the storm. However, when the winds of love start stirring, there is no stopping the gusts, which burst into an all powerful feeling of love, not only for Jayla, but for Storm as well.

Ms. Jackson has really done another wonderful job. She also keeps us informed into the lives of the other Westmoreland clan -- Dare, Thorn, Stone, Chase and the newly found Westmorelands. I am sure there are other stories along the way. We are looking forward to them, Ms. Jackson.

4.0 out of 5 stars In the eye of the storm..., January 23, 2005

First there was Delaney. Then came Dare, Thorn and Stone. And now there's Storm. Who or what am I talking about you ask? I'm referring to none other than the Westmoreland siblings featured in the Westmoreland family series written by the highly acclaimed author Brenda Jackson, of course.

Storm, like his brothers before him, never believed that he would fall prey to the fatal shot of Cupid's arrow. But when love calls, you have to answer. While in New Orleans on a business trip, Storm runs into Jayla Cole, the now grown-up daughter of his deceased boss. Sparks fly, and before he knows it, Storm's attitude about love and happiness takes flight on the gossamer wings of love, leaving him a changed (for the better) man.

It would seem that connecting stories would get a little stale and old, but this is not the case with the stories created by Mrs. Jackson. Even though you know what the outcome of each book will be, Mrs. Jackson manages to pen a tale that will tug at your heartstrings and if you don't have one already, will make you wish for a man just like the ones described in her many novels. Each one, including Storm Westmoreland, is sexy as sin, fiercely protective of all that is near and dear to their hearts and loyal to the love of their lives. Although a mere 192 pages, RIDING THE STORM was a well-written, passionate, and romantic read that die-hard Brenda Jackson fans, such as myself, are sure to treasure and talk about for many days, weeks, months and years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot Pleasure, December 27, 2004
This review is from: Riding The Storm (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
This was my first "Harlequin Desire", WESTMORELAND book, and boy am i glad read this book. I am a huge fan of Brenda Jackson Mardaris Family and Friends Books, but i really did like Jayla and Storm's book from this harlequin series. Jayla and Storm have always had feelings for one another but they did not act on them until now, up in New Orleans when they run into each other. Storm is a one-night stand kind of man, but Jayla longs to have her own identity along with a family. Is Storm the man that is going to give Jayla all this and more. This book was hot i read it in one day. Jayla and Storm will keep you warm well into the winter's night. The women are right this man is definitely "THE PERFECT STORM.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a little short, but still enjoyable. Brenda Jackson is a great writer, and I appreciate the happy endings. We all need a "Storm" in our lives. Thanks Brenda for doing it again!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Thumbs Up For Brenda Jackson, August 22, 2006

Riding the Storm was a great romantic, thrilling ride. As with all the Westmoreland men, Storm was just as hot, romantic and intelligent as the others. Storm reminded me a lot of "Thorn". So, if you liked "Thorn's Challenge" you'll enjoy "Riding the Storm." Thanks Brenda for a great read!

Riding the storm just proves that there is always someone out there for you whether you believe it or not and that person will come into your life whether you expect them to or not. Riding the Storm holds true to its title.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVED IT...*sighing with a smile*, January 10, 2006
This review is from: Riding The Storm (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
YES IT HAS ALOT OF SEX but if you were on vacation and ran in to the crush of your life wouldn't you have alot too if the feelings were mutual but it has a good storyline and i thought the ending was so sweet i wish BRENDA JACKSON would hook up her best friend in the book lisa with a family member a cousin i think that would be good...

Everybody has a different opinion when writting a review if we all had the same reviews or opinions it would be boring. Reviews can sometimes down play a really good book or up play a really bad book its up to us to read the book and judge for ourselfs and draw our own conclusion thats the best thing about a review its like a silent debate....

4.0 out of 5 stars Will Jayla Take A Ride On The "Perfect Storm"?, December 28, 2005
This review is from: Riding The Storm (Silhouette Desire) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a good read...The sexy, eligible bachelor Storm Westmoreland has a reputation with the ladies. He is called the "Perfect Storm" because he can make a woman's fantasies into reality, although he doesn't sleep with the same woman twice.
Jayla Cole, the daughter of Storms late mentor and a strong woman, has a plan to adopt a child and become a single parent because she has given up on finding that perfect somebody to LOVE.
The two see each other in New Orleans and the "REAL" story begins...You have to read the book to find out more about what happens between her and Storm. Will she take a ride on the "Perfect Storm"?
