These are great wine glasses. They're elegant & best of all, they wash in the dishwasher with a minimum of 'spots'. I recommend them for everyday use & special occasions.

Bought this to replace a broken one from our set of 8. I like this shape very much. Best for red wines. Doesn't feel too presumptuous. You can pour yourself a large glass if that's what you need, or keep it modest and classy.

I bought a pair of these and had them engraved at Things Remembered for a gift. They turned out very nice. These are a great all purpose red wine glass for all but the snobbiest cork dorks :)

I prefer these to the taller glasses that are so prevalant these days. I want the proper shape for my bordeaux wines, but I don't want to have to be so cautious. These glasses are the perfect solution! Get the Magnum sizes...only way to go.

Several years ago my husband and I took "wine class;" that is, a community course about wines, food pairings, history, etc. The teacher had mentioned that larger, crystal glasses were perfect for red wines, but we dallied for a few years before finally getting a set. Frankly, I was surprised at how great these glasses were. They are a really nice size, only moderately larger than the usual wine glasses, but about twice as large as the less expensive kind you find at discount stores. The shape is elegant, perfect for casual as well as nice dinners. They really do improve the overall experience of red wines. The larger bowl means the wine gets exposed to more air and can breathe. My husband is convinced the very slight lip on the glasses helps as well. Also, your nose gets down into the glass when you drink, and since scent and taste are so closely linked it really improves the overall flavor. We've used these with grenache, cabernet sauvignon, merlot, zinfandel, and blends. My only complaint is that these are somewhat more delicate than I'm used to. It's not a complaint about the glasses themselves, but more of a warning to others. The stem on one broke the very first day we used it, after a relatively light tap against a casserole dish sitting next to it in the kitchen. I bought a second set and hand wash them, as I wouldn't personally put these through the dishwasher because they are somewhat thin. For the price, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys red wines.

I drink wine...and while I doubt that drinking from crystal enhances the flavor (vs. the jelly jar glasses that I often drink out of), clearly it does add to the sensual pleasure. And I'm sure the shape influences the "nose." These glasses are *not* too big. Just a little bigger than an ordinary wine glass. They make a satisfying "ting" sound when flicked with a fingernail which is nicer than the "tunk" sound that Libby glassware makes. But I do have a complaint: That shortened stem may be nice for people with tiny little fingers, but for me it just means that I can't get two fingers between the base and the bowl. I didn't like it.
