terrific wine glass for the serious wine drinker,

this is the top of the line when it comes to wine glasses. it's the perfect gift for someone who loves wine, especially complex red wines.there is a smaller version (the mini) but i recommend this slightly larger version due to both its aesthetic appeal and its functionality. it is the way that good red wines were meant to be enjoyed.

The Best Wine glass for the Best taste!,

Contrary to popular belief- we really "taste" with our noses and not with our tongues. Tasting involves the tongue to a very minor extent (taste buds only detect sweet, sour, bitter, and salty). All the other favors or sensations are detected by the nose--the only time most people notice this is when they have a bad cold and stuffy nose--then nothing "taste" good.Therefore- you want a wine glass that can let the aroma linger, so you can get a good whiff. In addition the thickness and curvature of the glass somehow alters your "taste" ... I'm not sure why ... but I think many people would agree that some drinks taste better out of the bottle under certain situations...like soda or beer on a hot day. Therefore- you want a wine glass that is thin and has a curvature that you like. Unfortunately, a thin handsome wine glass is also easy to break. I have already broken a few...one an expensive Riedel Champagne glass. In conclusion: This is my favorite wine glass for good red aromatic wines.

Somewhat disappointed with the new Riedel Sommeliers Burgundy Grand Cru, Single Stem.
I believe quality has dropped a lot from the legendary Riedel manufacture. This is not the first time that I am replacing single stem of the Riedel product. The original was purchased about five years ago and they were perfect. I bought them right here at Amazon. The new one is not as tall as the original and has some imperfections in the bottom of the glass. I am not sure how this high-end wine glass pass their quality control. Perhaps, it is no longer available. I for one will look for alternative next time around.

If you want luxury, think about Riedel Sommeliers Burgandy Grand Cru Stems
I use them for enjoying my favorite pinot's and IPA beers.

Yes, they are elegant and can be broken relatively easily, if you are not careful. So be careful! If you have to drive nails with your crystal stemware, use a Waterford hock. (Which I truly love, as well btw)
If you have a great Pinot, be it a DRC La Tache or a Sea Smoke Ten, this is the stem for you!

...for nearly every varietal we enjoy. Thin? Yes, but what did you expect? Just be careful! I've had a pair for over a year and they're still getting the job done. Ordered my third today.....I'm sure I'll get a few more down the line. We don't hand them to all our guests, but those who do get them always remark at their beauty and effect on their overall enjoyment of the wine served. No complaints.....I highly recommend them....even at $100 per stem.
