Well done. A little dated, but good techniques don't change anyway. Could not find the Mil spec grease used in the cleaning.

THese DVD's are a great resource for the new M1A shooter. They are a must have for your gun library for those reviews on maintenance of your rifle.

WOW!

What a disappointment! The DVD I ordered (M1A/M14 Rifle Cleaning & Maintenence for Improved accuracy will not play in any of the three Apple computers I have.
My G5 Power Mac, as well as my Mini Mac (both with IBM style processors) as well as my MacBook Pro, will not play these DVDs. All three computers have Apple's DVD
player, and I tested all three with other musical & movie DVDs which worked just fine. I phoned the producer of this DVD, and since then they have sent two more of
the M1A DVDs, the last of which they claimed to have tested on an Apple computer.

At this point, I am ready to take these DVDs to the Grand Rapids Apple Store so they can certify these DVDs DO NOT WORK in Apple DVD players.

I guess I'm just out twenty some dollars at this point.

After owning a M1A rifle a year ago, I was hungry for any information regarding to cleaning and maintenance of my rifle. After scouting up-and-down the internet for tidbits of conflicting information, I finally chanced upon this DVD by Art Luppino. This DVD deserved more than the three stars that I have given due to its invaluable advices Mr. Luppino given in regard to Cleaning and Maintenance of M1A rifle, but due to several problems that I ended up only given it three stars.

Problem 1: This video was made in 1992, although M1A rifle had pretty much stayed the same in the intervening years, but the cleaning and maintenance technology of the rifle did not. I would love to hear what Mr. Luppino's opinion regarding to bore snake. It also worth noting that this is a VHS to DVD transfer over a DVD recorder, not the most professional production.

Problem 2: The tools and equipments used by Mr. Luppino either he himself made or purchased from companies that are no longer in business. Which can be frustrating for a beginner. For example, he make it look easy to clean the rifle chamber with the tools he made but for a user who have no such tool that's another story.

Problem 3: Although this video is aim for the beginner he uses terms that are not familiar to the newbies without offering explanations nor glossary.

But over all I am very satisfied with this DVD for its information can save a beginner from days of internet searching and sorting though all the conflicting advices. I think it's time for Mr. Luppino to do an update DVD.
