Rigging Handbook is great!,
By Allen (Chicago , IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rigging Handbook: The Complete Illustrated Field Reference, Second Edition (Paperback)
This book provided me with a better understanding of how to recognize potential problems with rigging. I have purchased several copies of this book for all our employees to help them perform safer lifts by learning more about the slings and hardware that they are using. The illustrations are very understandable and compelling. Explanations are simple and the reader won't require special knowledge of math or physics to understand the material.

Excellent rigging handbook,

This booklet has the basic information needed for products and proper rigging methods for lifting materials with cranes, derricks, etc. US units are used. The booklet is simple to use with diagrams and can be understood by foreman and superintendents with a basic education. It covers wire rope, wire rope slings, nylon slings, chain, mesh slings, and hardware. It has also has formulas, examples, references, and standards. The basic rules are covered to keep you out of trouble. It is also small enough to carry around.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Maybe I was expecting too much? This book gives spec's on equipment. You can get that information when you buy the item. I was looking for information on rigging. This book is very sparse on that. I returned the book.

Good pocket resource,

The book seems jam packed with information and reference material for rigging. only downside is the pages aren't laminated, only the covers (soft covers, pocket size book). Living in a humid place like New Orleans with tropical downpours happening every day in the summer time, a fully laminated booklet would be better.
