Taking their name from a street gang in a William Burroughs novel, the Heavy Metal Kids were mix of glam and punk releasing most of their often overlooked work in the mid and late 70's. After vocalist Gary Holton's death in 1985, the band took a long hiatus until, in 2002, they recorded this album, Hit The Right Button.

I don't usually give five stars, but I want to call your attention about this band. Let's talk about the present of this classic seventies band, "Hit the Right Button".
Most of the songs are catchy and infectious, like "Message", "Girl of my Dreams", the title track and "Viva New York".
"Blow it all Away" is the perfect example of a fast heavy song sounding updated and melodic.
"I Walk Alone" and "Voices" are melancholic and beautiful songs at the same time.
"Gotham City" with its fresh melody and the hard rocker "Whisky" are other highlights of a flawless CD with no filler songs.
The production is modern and at the same time keeps the hard rock feel.
Argentinian Danny Peyronel is an underrated great singer with a melodic and powerful voice that sounds the same as when he briefly sang for argentinian band Riff and in Tarzen as well (the latter another excellent underrated band), back in the eighties. He also plays the keys.
The guitars are robust and always play the right solo.

A great effort, with great achievements that will leave you singing along and will also put a smile in your face. First class hard rock. Highly recommended for every rocker.

What a terrific top rate album. We purchased this album over eight months ago, so this is not a quick knee jerk reaction & response. We play it daily as it is one of our absolute favorites. Every song on the album sounds like you are in the studio as it is being recorded.
Remember back to the 12" vinyl days when an album release occured, most songs were great and you wore the album out playing it so much. Well here is a release that captures that era....this album is solid and rocks!
Heavy Metal Kids lineup includes three of the original band members: lead vocalist/keyboards Danny Peyronel (what a range of vocals), pulverizing-driving beat from Keith Boyce, rhythmic bass/vocals by Ronnie Thomas, the two new "Kids" are the twin Marco's (Guarnerio & Barusso) on guitars/vocals with searing licks, progressions and solos that more than compliment and uphold any song arrangement. This is all new material.
Go ahead..Hit The Right Button & order this album, you won't be sorry. This deserves more that 5 stars..guaranteed!
