I bought this die based on price. I use it to chase threads on gun barrels. It works fine for chasing threads but isn't good enough to really cut threads on anything, especially if they aren't already started. It doesn't appear to have a tapered starter side. Both sides of the die start too quickly to start a thread.

Great for chasing threads, not very useful for threading.

Just what I expected from far off China. Needed a special thread size unable to find in USA and this place popped up. Got it in 2 weeks and did what I needed to chase the threads on a damaged shaft so I could put a lock nut on.

used it to chase threads and it did not even do this well . made in China - often means junk . This die was garbage . I've used dozens of dies over the years without problem ( I am a machinist ) but not with this crappy die . I won't buy another made in China tap or die - I've learned my lesson . If you buy this you will just have to buy a decent one late so save yourself some money and frustration .

The extra fine thread matches N-connector coax antenna connectors. I got it to cut threads in rod stock to plug unused holes in outdoor antenna junction blocks.

The item arrived quickly and worked perfectly. I have used several times and still works like new. Not much else to say

Very good tool although it was a little hard to start perfectly perpendicular to the barrel. A touch more taper in the starting threads would have been nice. It threaded the 416 stainless easily and cleanly leaving nice crisp threads - exactly what was wanted.
