Book Description

February 26, 2008
It's Not You, It's Me. . .

For Gabby Pearson, being dumped in public before the dessert course has to be the lowest of the low--especially when it's the old, "It's not you, it's me" speech. Honestly, how about something original: "I have five minutes to live" (very possible);"It's not you, it's the voices in my head" (thanks for the warning);or "I am such a powerful sexual being I could put you into a coma with one kiss" (wishful thinking). Not that Gabby would ever know since Reed Larkin never bothered to take her to bed. Why does a girl bother (to shave)? The only thing left to do is offer the guy a goodbye-forever drink. . .on his head.

It's Me Wanting You Completely. . .

Damn. Reed did his job--he walked away from Gabby rather than drag her into his unstable life and danger. Now he's wearing her full glass of wine instead of throwing her onto his sheets. It doesn't help that the woman is smart as hell and could stop a man's breath with that wide smile and those shapely curves. Gabby has it all, and Reed wants every inch of her. And now the joke's on him, because new intel says Gabby has just become his assignment: He has one day to win her back, get information from her she may not know she has, and somehow protect her at the same time.

Right Here, Right Now. Problem?

The stakes are high. The odds are impossible. And the mutual attraction is as hot and strong as Gabby's anger. And Reed can only hope his next speech--"It's you, baby, it's definitely you. . ."--will be the start of something wild, something crazy, something dangerous, something wonderful. . .

More About the Author

By day I'm a divorce lawyer specializing in unhappy endings. One day, during a particularly difficult string of cases, a former co-worker handed me a romance novel with the promise of a much-needed escape and a happy ending. I've been reading - and now writing - romance ever since.

My first release, the novella HARDHATS AND SILK STOCKINGS in the Kensington Brava anthology WHEN GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO BAD BOYS with Lori Foster and Erin McCarthy, was an Amazon, B&N and Borders bestseller. My first single author anthology, VIVA LAS BAD BOYS!, earned rave reviews and was a bestseller on Amazon and at B&N. Both books are available on Amazon and at other bookselling outlets.

My first single title, YOUR MOUTH DRIVES ME CRAZY, is a July 2007 Kensington Brava release. Check back here for more details. You also can visit me at www.helenkaydimon.com for updated information and some chit chat on my blog.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Klovers - Courtesy of CK2S Kwips & Kritiques February 26, 2008
Format:Paperback
How does a man woo himself back into the good graces of the woman he dumped so unceremoniously just the night before? Not easily, in the case of Gabby and Reed. All he wanted was to protect the seemingly innocent Gabby from the dangers of his current mission by distancing the lovely accountant from himself and the hazards of being associated with a man working undercover in a covert department that is an offshoot of Homeland Security.

But he screwed up - not only in Gabby's eyes, but in his superior's as well. Apparently his mission was less about investigating her and more about protecting the innocuous little accountant. Now he has just one day to find a way back into Gabby's life and stay close by her side. But Gabby isn't making it easy for him, despite the undeniable attraction between them - an attraction that burns even hotter now that he's had a chance to see the fierce little spitfire hiding beneath that oh-so-controlled exterior she usually shows the world... If he fails? Gabby may lose more than her man, she may lose her life.

I was first introduced to HelenKay Dimon's work with her title Your Mouth Drives Me Crazy, a book which showcased this author's talent for writing romantic suspenses with a hefty does of fun. She captures those same elements in her newest book, Right Here, Right Now with two captivating characters that never fail to entertain, even when (maybe especially when) they are at each other's throats.

Because that is where this novel begins, with the hero and heroine at each other's throats. OK, maybe Gabby is at Reed's throat and he's just trying to understand and fend her off, but the man deserves everything Gabby dishes out and more. Then again, as the story progresses and we learn exactly why Reed acts the way he does, it is easier to understand his purely altruistic motives behind everything he does in regards to his heroine. Not only that, but each new revelation had this reviewer falling for him a little more.

Reed is immensely likable, there is no denying that. From chapter one, where he is adorably clueless in the face of Gabby's justified ire, it is apparent that there are depths to this man that go far beyond the façade his mission requires he wear. As he finally unleashes the passion he has been harboring for Gabby from the day they began dating, Reed becomes more and more irresistible, to both Gabby and the reader.

Gabby herself is a heroine I find myself cheering for with each page. From the moment Reed attempts his misguided break-up with her, she cuts him no slack, something she takes even further when he inexplicably begins attempting to reconcile with her the very next day. Of course, being in love with him, she is by no means immune to his pleas for forgiveness and his attempts at seduction, but she definitely makes the man work hard for it, preserving both her self-respect and the respect of the readers, as well as delivering some great comedic moments.

In the end, we enjoy a perfect happy ending for this pair, courtesy of the talented HelenKay Dimon. She wraps up their story with some unexpected events that proved simultaneously surprising and richly satisfying.

Romance readers who enjoy sassy, capable heroines and dominant, good-hearted heroes will find Right Here, Right Now is more than a must-buy, it is a book guaranteed a permanent place on the bookshelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delight April 2, 2008
By Judy
Format:Paperback
Right Here, Right Now by HelenKay Dimon is a delightful gem.

Gabby Pearson could not believe her ears, she was being dumped. Granted her and Reed hadn't been dating that long but she thought they had the beginnings of something great. If being dumped wasn't bad enough the next day Reed appears at her work wanting to win her back. Like that would be a walk in the park.

Reed Larkins didn't want to drag Gabby into his world. Its not a calm or easy being a government agent. Breaking it off seemed the wisest thing to do at the time, even though Gabby stirred him like no other woman. Now his boss has made Gabby his newest assignment, he is told to watch her 24/7. Reed has to do some serious apologizing to get back in Gabby's good graces.

Gabby and Reed start a tenuous relationship, with Gabby not knowing all the facts. Will she forgive him when she finds out the truth? Turns out Reed isn't being told everything by his superiors. Can he protect Gabby and himself? He is willing to risk it all to keep Gabby Safe.

Gabby and Reed start off on the wrong foot but soon get back on track. Their way back is hot and sexy. Neither thought the other felt the deep passion that they do. Delightful for us they are so wrong.

Right Here, Right Now is a fast paced, wickedly sexy read. Gabby and Reed are truly enjoyable to read about and watch them fall in love.

5.0 out of 5 stars Right Here, Right Now- A Joyfully Recommended Title March 4, 2008
By M. Nix
Format:Paperback
Gabby is planning to take things to the next level with super hunky nerd Reed the night the big buffoon calls off their relationship. She is stunned and when he says that it is due to the fact he needs more excitement. Excuse me. Well, about the time she poured her wine over his head, she could almost see straight again.

Reed can't believe the fire in the little woman, and an accountant at that. Hmm, and where was his back up when he was being assaulted in a nice restaurant? Probably laughing himself into a stupor. Now that he though that he had needed backup anyway. It was more like someone just spying on his conversations. Well, he did his job. He kept her safe while gathering intel that she wasn't involved in anything shady. Now he is really in a bind, as he is told she is still his assignment and he needs to get back together with her. How is he going to do that? It was hard enough avoiding her with that wide smile and those shapely curves. Heck, his partner refers to her as "Legs". Can he even grovel enough to get her to take him back?

Well, if she takes him back, it will be on her terms, and if he brings food, all the better. But why does he never seem to be at work? Her co-workers at the secret branch of the government don't think he is all on the up and up. What will happen when he starts to think the same thing about her co-workers?

When you sit down to read Right Here, Right Now, you need to be prepared. First, you need a box of tissues, so that when you start laughing so hard you cry, you are all set. Second, you don't want any soda or milk near you. You so don't want to repeat those laughing so hard soda or milk comes out your nose incidents, do you?

Ms. Dimon takes a super-humorous look at the world of business intrigue and just how funny some of it could be, looking in from the outside. She has created a group of loveable, funny characters (I would love to see Doug get his own story) and with winning dialogue has made a story that I can't wait to recommend to everyone I know. After repeatedly telling my husband why I was laughing out loud he said "I guess that one will be Joyfully Recommended", and I wouldn't want to disappoint him. Therefore Right Hear, Right Now is Joyfully Recommended and I look forward to Ms. Dimon's next book!
