2.0 out of 5 stars Too much about using the Bible to justify War, August 2, 2010

This review is from: The Right To Keep and Bear Arms in the United States (Paperback)
It starts with a lot of old testament quotations that he uses as Christian justification to own lots of guns. He also chooses very select quotes from the new testament to justify cruelty and killing. he actually says "the doctrine that emphasizes peace is derived from distorted or perverted passages of scripture. We have to ask why this is and what is the purpose behind distorting the bible for promoting peace?"!!!! He also claims anti-war movements were created by the commies and any body that promotes world peace are the enemies of Christ. Man these Christians are freaking kooks! This guy is no better than those nutty Christian Zionists that want to instigate a biblical armageddon so they can get "raptured" up into the sky.

Next there is some good overview history of the militias and the role they played in the American revolutionary war. He next analyzes the second amendment and states rights pertaining to gun ownership. Then a few pages of quotes from the so called "founding fathers" about the need for an armed populace.

There is some good stuff here and there in this book but between the idiotic Christian stuff and the dryness of the parts where he analyzes the laws pertaining to gun ownership overall I wasn't that impressed with it.
