5.0 out of 5 stars Spiritually Deep & Vitally Significant, September 28, 2007

In order to leave a spiritual legacy you must be broken. It's a painful process that leads to maturity, but if one is to be effective, it is necessary. Only a person who has experienced such can write authoritatively about it. Jentezen Franklin writes with spiritual depth.

"God wants to see if you've got the right spirit in the face of adversity. God wants to know if you are able to 'bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you,'" (Luke 6:28) he writes. Chapter 11 is rich with insight on this difficult matter of passing these spiritual hurdles enroute to maturity.

In the previous chapter (10) he points out that credibility comes when one overcomes challenges. Some people aren't really used effectively by God because they haven't overcome anything substantial he notes.

Adding to credibility is his confession that he incorrectly "discerned" a matter involving one of his daughters. He missed it completely and had the courage to put it in his book and explain that it takes time to learn in the spiritual arena as it does elsewhere.

Chapter 14 talks about every marriage having an assignment from God. Singles are encouraged in the previous chapter (13) as he writes, "I assure you that God has destined someone to love you. Rest assured that he or she is living and breathing right now somewhere on this planet." He adds that you may not understanding God's timing, but it is part of the plan.

Overall this is one of the most important books you'll read because he teaches you how to be significant where it counts, in the eyes of the One to Whom you will someday give an account.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Empowering !!!!!, July 19, 2007

I watched Pastor Franklin on TBN's Praise the Lord program and saw the book advertised. I borrowed it from the library, but have to purchase my own copy. This is one of those "keeper" books that you will always want to read again, and again for reference! This book is not just for "Christians", but a must read for anyone seeking to fulfill their purpose as a child of God and want to understand and develop spiritual discernment. Buy it or borrow it but get a copy and read it. Absorb what you read and if you keep an open mind, you will find this book very inspiring.

4.0 out of 5 stars He does it again...., July 4, 2007
This review is from: Right People Right Place Right Plan (Hardcover)
If you like Jentzen Franklin's previous books and sermons, you'll like this book. When you read this book it is almost like he's preaching to you. He doesn't use some fancy author writing, he writes just like he's talking to you. The chapter on how to win your spouse is EXCELLENT and a must for anyone who has a spouse that is not a believer. The only negative I can say is that he repeats a lot of sections from other books and stories. I guess that's a problem if you listen to his sermons a lot but a very good reference tool to have on your bookshelf. I have placed sticky notes throughout my book for future reference.

This review is from: Right People Right Place Right Plan (Hardcover)
I took this book with me on a mission trip and everyone kept grabbing it to read more! I kept looking for it and it was always being read by someone else! The day I left, the pastor in Jamaica asked me if I would leave the book for her to finish reading! Of course, I did. Now I have to buy another one!

5.0 out of 5 stars REVEALS HOW GOD WORKS IN OUR LIVES., April 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Right People Right Place Right Plan (Hardcover)
This book revealed to me in simple terms how God designs and weaves together the events that come to pass in our lives. God will get us where He wants us, if we will submit to Him. He uses circumstances, people, and gives opportunities to those who simple want to obey Him. I enjoyed reading how to interpret many of the things that come into our lives as "God interventions." We need to recognize them as God working all things together to those who love Him. It made me excited as I now look and see things differently, always aware of who is working in the background, and if He is working then it is not a coincidence. God is purposeful and He has HIS ways. It is exciting to see how He uses those who desire to be used for the Kingdom. I very much enjoyed this book. Jentezen gives personal examples of how God has led Him all the way to where he is.
