I had preeclampsia with my first child, and had read that the brewer diet could help prevent it with my second child. I followed the simple diet in this book and didn't get preeclampsia with my second. I've read lots of success stories also. This book contains lots of information and pictures about pregnancy, birth, and the newborn stage. I highly recommend it.
