I picked up this program because I'm a writer and my grammar skills are not very strong. I researched several different software packages, and settled on this one based on reviews I had read.

This software will work on Vista, provided you are using a 32-bit version of vista. This software will not work on 64-bit versions of Windows.

The software doesn't integrate itself into a word processor, nor does it claim to. The software is a separate tool. It requires you to cut and paste your text from your word processor of choice into the program for analysis.

I performed a series of test runs with the package. It picked up a lot more errors than Word 2007's grammar checker did. Please note, this software wont automatically correct the work for you. It will flag potential errors and advise you of them. It's then up to you to make any changes in your document.

At first I found the software's error checking messages to be intimidating. However, the more I used the program, the less intimidating it became. I recommend a good writer's dictionary so you can understand some of the grammar jargon this program's error messages display.

The more I work with RightWriter, the more I come to understand grammar. I've reached the point where I can now identify and correct problems in my work without using the software. If you need a good grammar checker I can recommend this one.

I tried Whitesmoke first but hated it. It required me to connect to the internet every time I wanted to use it which meant anytime I was writing on my laptop and did not have web access the program did not work. It also created popup ads trying to make me buy their new software. I hated whitesmoke. I searched for an alternative and RightWriter was the highest rated plus it cost less than Whitesmoke. I bought it and have loved it since.

It does spell checking but that is only a secondary feature. The most important feature is how it analyzes writing and identifies grammar and style problems. It also has a page that shows several graphs rating the quality and difficulty of the writing. This page has been greatly helpful for me because I need my writing to be easy to understand. I now have a tool I can use in Rightwriter that helps me make my writing understandable even to those who do not have a doctorates degree.

It does not catch every error but then neither did Whitesmoke or any other program I demo'd.

For the money, you can't beat Rightwriter. I also recommend the Fix Your Grammar! course by the same company. It really helped me improve my writing and avoid dumb mistakes. One drawback to the course is that now I hear every grammar error on TV and I don't think I have seen a single news broadcast, reality show, scripted show, or even a movie that did not have several embarrassing grammar mistakes. They should have used the course or the Rightwriter software.

I like my Rightwriter and I will be keeping it.

RightWriter is a fast grammar and punctuation program. I'm a Writer;I had a book published last year, and have had short stories and articles published in magazines. My next novel is being revised. RightWriter has been a lifesaver. We all get in a hurry at times. Though our intentions are good, we can overlook mistakes. These overlooked mistakes can make our work look careless and haphazard. I speak of the - There/their - it's/its - etc. RightWriter works. I recommend it for anyone that writes. I've tried other grammar and punctuation software. I found them overpriced and underachieving. RightWriter works for me. If I could give it ten stars, I would.

I liked this program. It does make it easy to find grammar errors in my writing. It may not catch all of them but it does catch many errors and makes suggestions on how to fix them. I found the Fix Your Grammar course by the same company to be more useful and it includes the Rightwriter software too. I wish I had bought it first but at least I have it and it is a very good course to improve your grammar without going back to school.

I use rightwriter anytime I am checking an email that is important or when I am confused or something does not sound right and it is very helpful.

I love my Right writer it is the new version 6.0 It can be set to formal writing or fiction righting. It has helped me so much in just one day. I am terrible at grammar. The right writer is teaching me grammar. How to right sentences correctly and how to punctuate. I have tried White Smoke and Ginger software and this is the best!!! I was a little apprehensive, because of the other reviews. But I needed help for my short story writing. So I bought the right writer and am delighted with it.
It is like having your own personal teacher. It analyzes my sentences and grammar making suggestions
on how to improve it. Buy it if your lousy at grammar. You won't be disappointed.

This product has benefits to the writer, but be careful - be very very careful - I was using it with a Word document and when I did not accept its recomendations it would, at times, delete whole paragraphs. Also I found, at times, it gets itself into a loop and, short of rebooting the computer, nothing will stop it. It is a genuine attempt at a worthwhile writer support tool, but leaves much to be desired with reliability.
