Tight fit on a '04-'07 Ford F150 w/6.5ft box,
By It is a bit of a tight fit on my '07F150 shortbox 6.5ft.,& that is the reason for the 4-Star rating. I guess b/c the Fords '04-'07 body bed style is higher & a longer tailgate than the other 6.5 truck beds, like Chevy & Dodge offer. I did get it to work in the '07F150 but it just takes a little bit more adjusting of the tent & more time to install. I like the idea of no built in Floor w/this tent, makes adjusting the tent easier, also frees up space inside the Truck Bed for additional storing items while camping. Rain fly hooks on with ease, Works excellent as it rained both times I have used this Truck Tent. Looks great on any truck, outside straps will not damage your truck bed & are fully adjustable. Excellent instructions to set-up.

I bought this truck tent last spring for my Dodge Dakota pick-up. The first time I got it up in about 20 minutes but each time has been faster. It now takes ten minutes or less. The directions are good and the color coded poles and pockets make the task much simpler. There is a surprising amount of room inside the tent and good ventilation. Last July 4th, while at the lake, I was caught in one of the worst storms I have ever been out in. Many of the traditional tents were either leaking, flooded or blown over completely. Mine remained dry. I would highly recommend this tent to anyone who is intrested in a truck tent.

Product works as described. Installation is easier than I expected based off of some of the reviews here on amazon. Do yourself a favor and set it up in your driveway first. It will make your first camping experience with this tent much more enjoyable because you'll already have setting up down and it will be much easier. Also, use the back of the sewn in directions to write down your steps for taking it down, keeping in mind that you only want to loosen the very front strap next to the cab. This will allow you to keep the other straps in their fitted position so the next time you camp you onlyneed to tighten those two straps.

The first time we set the tent up on the truck it was a little difficult to figure out how to secure it, but I have a feeling that was more our fault. It was already dark and we had a couple of beers in us. Sometime in the middle of the night my Siberian Husky was able to figure out how to unzip it so she could go outside and play, which we easily fixed by moving the zipper to the top. Other than that, this tent was great on our first camping trip with it! One of my favorite things about it is that the bag they give you to store it in is plenty big enough to repack it in. No need to worry about being some kind of origami master.

2003 Ford Ranger XLT with 6' bedDid a great deal of research on the web to find the best fit for me and my spouse. Did not want a floor or an awning (Just more poles and guy wires to mess with) and after viewing setup procedures on Youtube I choose this tent. Setup is straight forward. I was "That Guy" and ignored the instructions when I set it up in my driveway and it took 40 minutes. At the campsite I followed the instructions and it took ~15 minutes to assemble. Don't be "That Guy". Read and follow the directions when you set it up the day *prior* to your trip. If you arrive late and it is dark, the practice will make setup much easier. The fit is snug on my Ranger so I took my time fitting it to the bed. The poles fit nicely into the colored coded pockets. By this I mean that you don't feel like you will break the poles bending them into position. Inserting the poles through the sleeves, as another reviewer noted, can be slowed down by the connectors catching on the material as well as catching when they are removed. Not a deal breaker but slightly annoying. The straps are easily adjusted and remain in place quite well without damage to the exterior of the truck. Lots of room inside with well placed pockets for eyeglasses and other small items and the center hook holds a medium electric lantern without sagging. The zippers move smoothly and entry and exit is not awkward. (If you have knee problems, a step stool to assist in stepping up to the tailgate would be a good investment.) The rain tarp fits well with large plastic windows to maintain an outside view. The storage bag is oversized. Thank you to the product engineer that designed the bag. It is great to have a stuff sack that you don't have to fight to stuff. Pros: Solid fit, ease of setup, truck exterior not scratched, large storage bag. Cons: Poles can be a slight pain to insert and remove from sleeves. Note: When you take down the tent, fold it in from the sides and roll it from the front to the tailgate. This way you can easily find and slip the tailgate portion on without searching for the front or rear of the tent in less than optimum light conditions. I use this mattress when camping and it works perfectly: AirBedz Original Truck Bed Air Mattress with built in pump

Truck is 2000 F-150 6.5' bed. Have not tested in rain or wind, although I expect it to perform very well.Pros: I performed a pre-setup of the tent up in about a half-hour without reading directions; pretty straight forward. Great Fit. Well Constructed fabric components; Pole placement in heavy-duty nylon fabric tabs... sturdy. Rainfly is a snap. Cons: (1) The shock-corded poles are assembled with a metal collar at end of each pole segment. However, the collar-edge is exposed...not recessed into the pole. When inserting a pole into its nylon-mesh sleeve, this collar edge WILL hang on the sleeve fabric--especially when under compression (think rough finger nail on nylon stocking). I expect this issue to cost me at least 10 minutes of erection time. This is a serious design flaw which would be cured if the mesh sleve were solid nylon fabric. (2) Check the rubber nipple pole ends. Some of these will not have been glued, and you will surely loose them during pole removal from sleeve. (3)The Rainfly snap-buckles, which should be simple/smooth operating, are pretty cheezy-cheap. Suggestions: Definitely do a prefit before your first camping trip. Carefully tune all of the strap lengths. Roll up all of the excess strap and tie a heavy rubber band around the bundles. Check to assure that all the pole nipples are tightly glued. For a one-person install, tie 4 ft--or so--length of cord below one of the Rainfly windows (at buckle position, after affixing fly buckles on one side) so you can throw it over to the other side; otherwise, you will have a hard time getting that fly positioned on to the erected tent. Note that the tent poles do not sit on top of the bed-rail. Rather, they hang over the outside of rail an inch or two.

Tent was easy setup, I thought. Will be much easier, and faster, the next time. Plenty of room inside to just be able to stand. Could use some sort of sun-shade, but the rain cover can be folded back and used that way. Overall I am very satisfied. Nice product.

Fits my 2005 Tacoma perfectly. Took a little effort to get the poles in place, but it went together fine. You will need a tie down in the front of the truck bed, but you can use a loop of 1/4" nylon rope through the drain holes to anchor the front of the tent.

Even fits over my toolboxes... I did reinforce the corners where the box hits but it is a great travel alone. I carry it and the mattress in my toolbox for unexpected stay overs.

As with most tents, the first time setting it up was the most difficult. However, the instructions are pretty straightforward and the poles are color coded which makes set up easier. So after a few minor trial and errors it was up and ready. The tent has plenty of space inside and as advertised, is well ventilated. I especially like the side windows and the top which allows you to see out. It was definitely worth the price: I would recommend it/
