Check the label and expiration dates! Of course, make your own decision.

Oct 18 2013 Reference: [...]
Japanese weekly magazine Shukan Asahi did its own checking on imported blueberry spread being sold in Tokyo and alerted the health authorities, who were reluctant to do anything at first.

Main points from from Shukan Asahi (10/23/2013) article:

o Fior di frutta organic fruits spread" blueberry imported from Italy

o Place of origin: Bulgaria

o 164Bq/kg of cesium-137 by test commissioned by Shukan Asahi

o 140Bq/kg of cesium-137 by test by the municipal (Tokyo) health authorities

o Shibuya-ku ordered the importer MIE PROJECT on October 18 to recall 5,184 bottles of blueberry spread with the best before date of October 17, 2015.

o Ministry of Health and Welfare initially refused to do anything based on "private" (as opposed to "official" - i.e. by the government) test results.

o The public health centers involved didn't want to move either on just "an article that appeared in a magazine".

o Less than 10 percent of all imported food is tested; it is possible that people are eating contaminated food without knowing.

I just read a report from fukuleaks.com that shows the blueberries were highly contaminated by cesium released from fukushima debacle. Evidently blueberries readily absorb cesium. This jam has been pulled from the shelves in japan but still continues to be sold in other countries. Amazon, please research this and pull this jam from your site. Evidently their other fruit products are fine.

A friend sent me this link about this product: [...] Apparently, this was tested and found to have extremely high levels of cesium contamination. So how could that be? The short answer is Chernobyl.

The origin for the jam is actually Bulgaria and blueberries have been known to pick up cesium in higher amounts. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!

Amazing fruit spread glows in the dark, allowing me to make toast and jam at 3 am without needing to turn on the lights. Even better, if you leave the lid off, only half the jam is gone after 30 years! Somehow feels energizing and my friends say it makes my skin look "positively glowing!"

This is the best tasting blueberry preserve I have ever had. I really like the fact that they sweeten it with concentrated apple juice rather than sugar or high fructose corn syrup. Excellent product that I highly recommend. Gracie milli.
