Working well. I have only used it with pine, but it has not bogged down.

Good thing to note-- this Rikon is really the same as the Eastwood model, the Rockwell model, and the Ryobi model. It is obvious. So you might imagine they all perform the same. Take your pick on paint color and stickers. I liked this Rikon/green the best...

BTW - you will need a 2.5" adapter if you plan to attach your shopvac. Get it on Amazon too...

I just bought this and have not used it extensively. Set up time was about ten minutes. Runs really well, I also have only used it on pine, but then again I am not forcing it to remove a lot of stock in a short time frame. At 40+ pounds it is very stable, well made and quiet. The belt adjustments are easy to use and get good results. Would recommend this for any home workshop.

I have used this sander a number of times and I find it a good deal more sturdy and seemingly built to a higher standard than most of the cheap Chinese junk out there. I have bought a lot of the cheaper Chinese tools in the past and while they generally function, they use cheaper materials like thinner steel, more plastic and poor quality motors. This piece seems to be the exception. It runs well and the top belt even tilts, a feature that I noticed the Home Depot machines do not have. It appears to be cast iron and is heavy as can be. I like it. It works well. It feels like reasonable quality. I expect it will last a while. I'd buy it again.

It's a good sander and the belt is not as hard to change as the other people who rated it says it is. Just remove at the bottom first. I use it for making knifes and the only setback is that the motor will bog down when the pressure is hard against the sander. I didn't want to spend a large amount of money so I'm satisfied because it will work for me. No problems with it so far.

My husband surprised me with this sander for my birthday. I love crafting, and my biggest time consumer has been the hours of sanding. With this, I'm now spending only minutes on sanding. In fact, my first piece I sanded too much, as I didn't realize how quickly it would smooth the wood. I love the curved sanding plate, which allows me to sand all different shapes. Couldn't be happier!

I replaced my other cheaply made belt/disk sander that I ultimately killed because it was being used constantly. This one is made much more sturdier, has lots of power and the dust collection helps to cut down on the amount of dust - does it capture all? No, but much better than my old one which didn't have a dust port.

Nice heavy duty motor. Two complaints. 1. the table for the disk doesn't stay put. It shifts with pressure. 2. The lever that releases the tension to replace the sanding belt is cheap and came apart the first time I used it. I was able to get it back together but I think it will come apart again. Should be more skookum for a product like this.
Does a great job sanding. I used it for several hours while making toys. It didn't even get warm. Using a vacuum with it is highly recommended.
