Biographer's genius matches the subject...,
By Zac Jordaan "Zac" (South Africa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Rimbaud (Paperback)
Graham Robb has presented a biography of Ribauld that one intuitively recognizes as accurate and defining. The sense of the man is clearly conveyed in writing that often matches the work of Ribauld himself.
Even though I will most likely never be able to fully appreciate Rimbauld's work myself, I enjoyed this biography as if I were a Rimbauld scholar. Somehow, the sense of Ribauld's brilliant and horrifying life is inescapably presented and I became absolutely absorbed in the story unfolding before me. I highly recommend this book to anybody thinking of reading it - you won't be dissapointed. |
