beguiling music, February 19, 2008
If you like the French language and music with a lilt, you will probably love this cd. I love the dark sounding waltzes and tangos on this compilation. If that scares you away, don't worry, there are plenty of lighter, charming pieces here as well. Of the two Ketty cds in my collection, I much prefer this one, mostly for the selections, but also for the discrete and effective remastering of recordings from the 1930s. If you haven't explored French chanson, give this a try -- you just might get hooked like I have!
