Excellent Humour Filled Fantasy!, March 5, 2008
This review is from: Rincewind Trilogy (GollanczF.) (Hardcover)
This trilogy stars one of the most loved and well known of Pratchett's characters, the Wizzard Rincewind.
The first book Sourcery about the 8th Son of an 8th Son of an 8th Son, in other words a Wizard squared or A sourcerer! A Sourcerer brings new magic into the world, but what does it bring with it! Rincewind is the chosen protector of the Archchancellor's Hat. With appearances from Death, the Librarian and Cohen the Barbarian's Daughter this is a great story from Pratchett.
The second book Eric is a parody of Faust. Eric wants to Rule the world, Meet the most beautiful woman and Live forever. Eric summons a demon but gets instead Rincewind who tries to meet Erics demands. What is happening in hell though? A very funny book!
The Third book Interesting Times renews the partnership between Rincewind and Twoflower first seen in The Colour of Magic. This time Rincewind travels to Twoflowers country though and falls in with the silver horde led by Cohen the Bararian. Chaos ensues! A really entertaining read!
