I have an 06 Screamin Eagle Ultra with true dual. I just recently returned from a trip where I put 3000 miles on my bike. The bike has 6800 miles on the clock now. While on the way home from the East Coast I could hear an exhaust noise. Thinking I had a loose exhaust flange bolt I stopped at a gas station and was sad to discover that near the weld for the the mounting tab on the back cylinder there was now a hole in my pipe. I limped my bike home and today I called Reinhart Racing to see what we could do about it.

My phone call was simple, Hi can I have customer service please? This is customer service what can I do to help you. I ride an 06 Screamin Eagle Ultra and I have true duals on a trip I found a hole in my exhaust pipe that is right on the weld. The female on the other end let me get you to tech support. Tech support, I run through same story... He replies we have a replacement pipe for that problem but we are back ordered on them, would you like to buy one? BUY? Yes, they are $229.00. Me... I have a $1000 exhaust system that you made and it is faulty, you now want me to buy a part to replace your faulty part? He stated yes, I said I see a problem here.... and told him how I saw on the website they are "undisputed leader in the aftermarket performance exhaust industry" and "behind the chrome lies an American-made product exuding skilled craftsmanship throughout the entire fabrication process" not to mention "dedication to continued advancements in technology will continue to create new possibilities for the performance exhaust industry in future years" Then I asked for a supervisor, to which I was told he was the Supervisor, I said I thought you were tech support.

This conversation went on for a while. He did clam up and try to end the call when I told him the entire call was being recorded and that I was going to post it on the internet as Reinhart standing behind their parts. He said my pipes are out of warranty and and they would sell me a replacement but that was all that was going to happen. I explained to him as an American I felt ashamed that the company would sell parts that they have a known issue with and then not stand behind them but instead they would continue to put "behind the chrome lies an American-made product exuding skilled craftsmanship throughout the entire fabrication process" on their website.

We continued our conversation going in circles. I've had Vance and Hines in the past, and had no problems on other bikes. My last set of Vance and Hines saw 26000 miles before I sold the bike and I know they are still going strong. I think my next call will be to see what they will do to fix Reinhart Racings poor workman ship. Buyer Beware when it comes to Reinhart.

I too have been considering the 4" Rinehart slip-ons for my 2014 HD and was doing my research when I came across these 11 (at the time) 1-star reviews. But after reading each one of them, it appears that there are only 3 actual reviews. There are 8 other "reviewers" claiming they won't buy the product based on these reviews and then giving the product 1 star.

Thus, there are (8) 1-star "reviews" from people who have never bought or used the mufflers???? Really guys?

Given that Rinehart has sold hundreds of thousands of mufflers and I see only 3 reviews, I think I'll take my chances and let you know how it goes.

Update 6/4/2014:
Installed the mufflers in 30 minutes; easy as can be. Now have 2500 miles on them and love the way they look and sound. I don't notice any performance difference, but then that wasn't my goal.

I have a 2006 Road King Custom FLHRSI. Much like a review i just read here on amazon about the same exhaust, i have a very similar issue. I purchased my bike brand new in February of 06 and had the Rinehart True Dual system installed by my dealer. Although the bike is 6 years old, it has only 4200 miles on it and the end caps turned a blackcherry color from the original black, and the bigger issue is the left muffler/baffle is broke and creates a nauseating rattle that is quite embarrasing going down the road. I just got off the phone with a man named Joe from Rinehart warranty in North Carolina. He basically told me that there's nothing he or the company can or will do for me the exhaust is out of warranty. Funny because in my eyes this is a defect in craftsmanship, for a company that so called "prides itself on being the best". They offer nothing to help. This Joe stated other than purchasing a new muffler for $299.00 that's my option. Considering the exhaust cost me $900.00 to begin with i'm stuck at a crossroads. I DO NOT want to give this company another dime of my money, and would like nothing more than to rip the entire exhaust off the bike and throw it through the front window of their company headquarters. To those out there i hope you read this and don't make the mistake of falling for there false slogans of building the best exhaust. They're exhaust is garbage. Customer service is shoddy. I work hard for my money, and it's a shame that i have to go out and spend more of it, on another exhaust, due to a company called RINEHART RACING. A company that makes exhaust that only lasts for 4200 miles. DISGRACE....

I bought a new 2012 Harley Ultra Limited on 2/7/2012 and had the Rineharts 4 inch exhaust installed from the dealer the same day I bought the bike. I have roughly 1600 miles on it. The chrome exhaust tips are turning blue already. I called Rinehart and spoke to Joe. He said it was an exhaust leak where the end cap slides into the muffler. He told me that is a non warrantable item. That the dealer is supposed to permatex the end caps to the muffler to get a seal. I explained to him that my Harley dealer said that is b/s. He still will not send me end caps and told me I was wanting something for nothing. He wants to sell me new end caps and is blaming it on the dealers. I expained to him the pipes are 2 months old and that it is a design and manufacture flaw in the design. He hung the phone up on me. They are supplying a faulty product and expecting the end user to pay even more money for their poor design and poor product.
Do not waste your money on this companies products as they are scamming the American people. They are straight out crooks

I have these pipes for my 2010 ultra. They are awesome. They have improved the bike performance, have a great low end sound without sound "rude", and look great. I notices all the one star rating are from people who expect to get them replaces after several years, or are just "tag a longs" that haven't even owned the pipes. Face it, these are exhaust pipes, that take the most abuse of the bike and won't last forever. I researched a lot of pipes and decided on these for their looks, sound and performance, plus being a brand name.

This is to most of the reviews on here:
Before you start to talk bad about an "american" company, you should get your "american" language and spelling correct. It is RINEHART not reinhart. How are others supposed to believe info about a company, coming from somebody that CAN'T even spell the company's name!! Be careful, Anybody can read or post on the internet!! Freedom of Speech, 1st Amendment. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion!!
Thanks!

GREAT PIPES!!

I've got a set of Rinehart slip ons on my 2006 Road King police model for over 5 years. I've had no problems. I was completely surprised when I read about the poor customer service & quality of the product. They sound & look good after all these years.
