5.0 out of 5 stars Phillys Most Slept On
Should be the name of this duo. From the first time I heard "Get Down or Lay Down" I was very impressed with these guys. Not only to they adapt their flow to the flow of the track but they match lyrics very well with each other. When I saw they got 3 mics and barely a review I knew something was up. 3.0 out of 5 stars Possibly 3.5 stars for their 2nd Group Effort
Boobonic & Mr. Man are back after virtually disappearing off the face of the Earth for almost 3 years, as I never heard of them or any songs with them since their debut in August 2001. Part of me says they should have stayed away, as this isn't close to their near classic debut. Only 10 songs for starters, 1 classic, 2 are good, 3 or 4 are ok and 3 or 4 I skip. Guests...

5.0 out of 5 stars Phillys Most Slept On, August 26, 2004

Should be the name of this duo. From the first time I heard "Get Down or Lay Down" I was very impressed with these guys. Not only to they adapt their flow to the flow of the track but they match lyrics very well with each other. When I saw they got 3 mics and barely a review I knew something was up. Everyone who hears Phillys Most wonders why they get no promotion, I am wondering the same thing. They got dropped from Atlantic and now picked up by Universal. This CD GOT NO GODDAMN hype and it will be pigeon-holed Im sure. That rant being said, this CD offers alot of quality for being somewhat short.

The intro is very melodic and a great start to the CD. In house production should be commended as there were no big names behind the boards but very good beats none the less. Away From Here and Dust your Boots stand out as the two best tracks on the CD. I really enjoy So Much Trouble as well, with an infectious beat and murderous bars by Mr.Man on that joint. The title track is worth mention as well although Boo's drawl-flow is semi-uninspiring on that track.

Overall this is an excellent CD and it really pisses me off that cats with real talent get slept on while Jae-Kwon type garbage artists get paid. Pick this up and support some real ballers with real good music for every type of hip hop fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Columbia.....Please promote Philly's Most Wanted!!!, July 27, 2004

This review is from: Ring the Alarm (Audio CD)
'Get down or Lay down,' is one of the better cds in my collection and it got no promotion. Columbia just inked them to a new contract and there has been NO PROMOTION for this album. I am a huge fan & i didn't even know it was coming out till the day before it dropped. Mr & Boobonic both have unique flows and need some radio play. People feel PMW when they hear them for the first time. Well done Columbia....these boys careers are over. I just hope they are gettin paid.

My favorite tracks on this disc are 'Ring The Alarm' & 'Away From Here.'

Reccomend this post if you agree with me & feel these cats. I know theres more of us out there.

Guests rap on 1 song and do hooks on 3. Production is average as well (not surprising as I never heard of any of the producers), with really only 1 real tight beat (and it's a sample of an older song). Dre & Vidal as well as C4 each do 3 songs, Kevin Briggs does 2 and Jay & Paul and Felony each do 1. For their fans pick it up but otherwise download the 3 good songs.

#1 - 10 (CLASSIC -- great beat)
#2 - 8 (f/ Black Thought & Jason Boyd -- tight beat)
#3 - 6 (f/ Candace Smith)
#4 - 7
#6 - 6.5
#7 -5
#9 - 8 (f/ Ryan Toby)
#10 - 7.5
#11 - 3 (f/ Floetry)
#12 - 5

This album is hot... it's filled with great anthems and
the Neptunes are one of the best producers on the market
nowadays. This album is great for parties and it get the crowd jumpin'. I think without a doubt that this will
be one of the best party albums out this year. Everyone should check it out!
