IMPRESSIVE, March 31, 2001
Very impressive CD by Mark Boals who sang for Yngwie on a number of CD's.. This CD is very influenced by Rainbow/Yngwie.. The guitar work of Tony Macalpine & keyboard work if Vitalij Kurpij is very impressive. Yngwie wishes his music sounded this good. Mark Boals has a very impressive voice & his song writing is very strong.. "The Quest" & "Kepper of the Flame" his voice really shines.. A must cd if you are love to hear excellent guitar playing because MacAlpine is superb. Mark Boals put together a top-notch CD and check it out.

A FEW WORDS FOR Arman Alimian, February 24, 2001
I see that you're one of those narrow-minded Y.Malmsteen fans. How bad for you.Now i want to ask you if Mark wouldn't sing "you don't remember" could that song be as good as it is now.And you say "who was Mark Boals before Malsmteen".What a foolish question.Let me ask you now:Who knows Mike Keneally?Do you?I don't think so.But we saw him with Steve Vai and he was unbelievable. So quit being narrow-minded about Malmsteen.I like him so much but it's a fact that for 4-5 years he's repeating the same things.I agree that R.O.F is very "Malmsteen-like" but we loved Mark singing like this didn't we? So i say "everybody listen Mark Boals-Ring of Fire. It's aa amazing vocal, guitar, drum, keyboard album. And 5 stars for "the keeper of the flame"

"Ring Of Fire" runs rings around Malmsteens" latest, March 31, 2001
First of all, let me just say that this release is in every way superior to Yngwies lousy "War To End All Wars" disk.Malmsteen oughta count his blessings that a great vocalist such as Mark Boals would still sing on his records to date.'ROF' is probably the best of the genre, and more since its music tends to showcase brilliant talent in its musicians,as well as dramatic moments, such as the trac 'atlantis',in which mark's lyrics are in touch with beautifully-mystical tales of a long, lost land. The title-trac i feel is very vigorous, and reminiscent of a younger Yngwie when he still had content and feel to his playing,as well as his music.Other titles on this disk are cleverly written, and beautifully excecuted that makes for a very impressive release! While I am an Yngwie fan, i regret to admit that this is everything that an Yngwie disk could have,...should have been. Mark boals is obviously a great song-writer, and judging by the music, has alot to offer fans of the genre.Malmsteen sure missed the ride at the bus-stop with this music, cause it could've been him on guitars and not the great Tony Macalpine burning-picks! Fans of this genre, do your-selves a favor, put aside any criticism of how Macalpine shamelessly ripped-off Yngwie and did it better, and buy this disk! It's gonna wake-up Yngwie, and help him outta the rut he evidently is in.
