2.0 out of 5 stars Turgid sports writing, April 2, 2011

I'd say I follow MotoGP pretty closely, and even then there were a few anecdotes and episodes in this book I wasn't familiar with, but I take everything in this book with a big grain of salt. Broadbent writes in third-person omniscient, which makes it easy for him to artificially goose the story with melodrama but it's tedious and better suited to historical fiction than something that's supposed to be "non fiction."

If reading a soap opera about MotoGP sounds like fun, buy this book. Don't expect to find any notes or references for Broadbent's purple passages, though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Must Read book for GP Fans, January 13, 2011

This review is from: Ring of Fire (Paperback)
Very addicting read. Much insight gathered into both Modern and Past GP era. I enjoyed it even more then Rossi's autobiography. The behind the scenes world revealed about Vale, Pedrosa, Hailwood, Stoner, Hayden, Melandri, Capirossi, Sete, Biaggi, and more is like morphine for any hardcore race fan.

I will buy more for friends and family.
