No matter what I said or did stopped them.
think good
When these folks ring my doorbell randomly, my dog barks very loud waking up my newborn every time. it was rather annoying.
He opened up the door and yelled,"I'm Jewish!" and slammed the door in their faces.

I work at home and cannot believe how many interruptions I was getting per day from solicitors. I got a No Soliciting sign, and that didn't put too big a dent in it. The religious nuts completely ignored it. I was trying to be polite, but still be left alone. No clue. Seriously, going door to door is sales, whether it's religion or encyclopedias! Finally had to put this up, and I'm amazed how many times I now hear people coming up, then stopping, then leaving...all without knocking on my door. Finally some peace! Sad I was left with no other choice, though. (Honestly, if a religion is so good, it should speak for itself and not require someone to shove it down your throat.)

After a member of a JW church moved into my apartment building, it seems like the religion peddlers knocking on my door have increased. I am Jewish and have a mezuzzah on the doorframe. I thought it was a coincidence last year when the religion peddlers knocked on my door last Rosh Hashanah. I said no thanks and also pointed to the mezuzzah, telling them that it might be nice if they avoided homes that are obviously Jewish since this was a holy day that we are celebrating. Instead they took that as an opportunity to try to tell me how their religion is so much like mine. I cut them off and said to please go away. They did, later sneaking back to put a tract on my door apparently out of spite.

Well, so much for coincidences. I've noted that this year they've targeted my door on Rosh Hashanah and other Jewish holidays in addition to the Saturday mornings, so I resorted to getting this plaque. I've had two Saturdays in a row in which I haven't been bothered, but whether this will keep them away remains to be seen.

I'm pleased with the way it looks. It's not huge or obnoxious or disrespectful to the religion peddlers, and it gets the message across without words. I don't care to insult anyone: I just want them to respect my boundaries. The plaque attached firmly to my door using the foam mounted adhesive. The plaque is plastic, so no concerns about rust. I'm in an apartment, and I don't think I'll have a problem removing it from the door when I move, either.

I am so happy with this sign. I work from home and get missionaries from the LDS Church and LDS folks from the local ward knocking on my door regularly. I have told the local ward folk people to go away three times in the past (nicely the first two times, sternly the last), after they recently left literature including invites for my girlfriend to attend their singles ward for the second time, I decided to purchase this sign (thanks dicks).

No joke, just today I was walking out my door with two friends and behold! Two missionaries were walking up to my door (I live on the top floor an apartment, I have no idea why they frequent my place so much). The young Mormon lad says to me "On your way out?" My response, "Yep" and I gave a head nod to the door [sign]. He didn't say another word and proceeded to leave the opposite direction. My friends didn't believe me until today that I'm always getting the Mos knocking on my door. Oh thank you great sign, praise to you long time, etc..., etc... Thank you for keeping the Mormons from knocking on my door, making my dog bark for like ten minutes and disabling me from work. Amen.

PS - I also purchased the no soliciting sign that was suggested by Amazon on the No Preaching Door Plaque's Amazon page. Just so you're aware, the No Preaching sign is white on black, the No Soliciting sign they recommend is silver on a dark slate color. They don't match... but both are effective.

My wife and I recently moved into our new home and we noticed within a 2 week span we had already been bothered by door to door proselytizers 3 times. One time of note we were painting our living room and I was kind of up on a latter and my wife was holding it, you know making sure I did not die. They come a knocking and a door bell ringing and they are looking right at us trough the window as we are working... instead of seeing that we were busy and walking away to peddle their wears another day."knock knock Ring Ring". At that point we were just annoyed beyond words and just ignored them till they went away. Once done with the painting I hopped on the lap top and found this little gem.

Not too expensive and not too big. This discretely tells those you don't want bothering you to bugger off with out being really offensive or having something extremely visible from the road or sidewalk. We put ours just above and to the right of the door bell. It has two strips on the back where you remove the film and it sticks to what ever surface you want to place it on. I suspect that in the case of extreme heat directly on the plate it might heat up the adhesive on the back to the point where it could lose its sticky properties and drop off, but we've been having a summer in the upper 90's and so far it has only popped its lower strip once. I pressed back down on it and it has not done so since.

Happily, since we put it into place we have not had an issue with unwelcome visitors. So I recommend this item for those who just don't want to be bothered by those who for some reason just don't know how to take no thank you as an answer.
