Awesome collaboration,

This review is from: Ring Some Changes (Audio CD)
'Ring Some Changes' is an instrumental collaboration between two excellent singer songwriters. The range of styles is very eclectic, from gypsy jazz to classically inspired pieces, and it includes original songs from both artists in addition to an interesting selection of covers. This album didn't leave my CD player for about six months after I bought it. I even prefer it to Brooks' solo instrumental album 'Little Lion,' which is also excellent. Highly recommended to fans of either artist.

Kick 'bottom' (ahem) guitar work,

I first found Jim Henry when I saw him tour with Tracy Grammer. I was impressed but I wondered what he would sound like without Tracy's vocals and violin in the mix. We'll it is different but man the guy knows what to do with a guitar. He plays kind of a mix of folk, blues, and country. This CD he did with Brooks Williams brings out the best in both artist. If you want to hear some really fine guitar work you can stop right here. I would give anything to see these guys play this stuff live.

Brooks Williams and Jim Henry team up to create an awsome CD. This music gets your foot tapping but calms the inner spirit. Excellent CD.

Like hangin' out with a great friend,

Simply one of my all-time favorite albums. I picture a cool late summer eve after a hot day, or sipping a pint at the lean-to on the trail, or friends who can really cook at your pot luck, with these two guys banging it out on the front porch. I was lucky enough to see them last April at the Black Moon Lounge in Massachusetts and they were every bit as good. How's about another?
