This thing is amazing... I bought it thinking it would be kind of funny, but it works incredibly well and is as convenient as it gets. Make sure you get the right size though - when people with smaller fingers try to use mine, they say that it digs in a little and hurts. When sized right you barely feel a thing.

I read the reviews and ordered the ring as small as possible to minimize the pain. I'm a full time bartender and I really like it. It does start to hurt after I open 20+ bottles but that's mostly because just like with any bottle opener some bottle caps pop right off and some are more stubborn and that's when it digs. I had to stick with it to get the hang of but it's so handy (haha)! My customers think it's a nifty trick and it's a conversation piece behind the bar. At home and at parties my boyfriend loves handing his Heineken over to me to open. It's very durable too.

I find I'm using this ring all the time. It looks and works better than I thought it would, although it did take me a couple trys before getting the hang of it. I figured out that the faster you try open the bottle, the easier the cap comes off.

Not worth it! First day my boyfriend used it worked up until the third beer and it broke! Stainless steel my ass!

The first ring I received cracked trying to open the third bottle. I contacted the seller and very nicely they sent another. A week later I had a brand new ring which works great. Three stars, only because it was very disapointing that the first ring, which was a gift, cracked so soon.

I've had one of these for a couple of years and I absolutely love it.
I've been working as a bartender for almost 6 years and this thing has been a lifesaver.
It's also a great way to start a conversation as it looks like you just wrenched the lid off with your bare hands.

My original review is below--yes, it works. I can't edit to say "I hate this thing", but I am editing my review because after less than a month of use, the ring snapped apart while I was using it last night. It didn't bend or even crack, but actually snapped into two pieces. I'm disappointed that I only got a month out of it.

I never did anything with it other than open bottles.

No, I'm not a bartender, but I have drank a few beers in my day. I ordered this ring a bit small because of the other reviews on here, so I can't actually wear it on my middle finger. No matter--now I wear it on my right ring finger all day comfortably and just twist it over when I need to use it.

It works quickly and hardly bends the bottle cap at all, which is great if you keep them all like I do. There is very little strength or precision needed... just bring the bottle up to your finger and the cap is off in no time.

If you aren't a bartender opening hundreds of beers a night, order it at NORMAL size, not small. Sure, if you're a bartender, you might want it super tight, but I wouldn't know as I haven't experienced any pain.

I ordered it at 430 ish and it arrived at noon the next day less than 16 hours shipping I call the epitome of efficiency. Its even the right size. I have fairly thick fingers and this size is just a wee bit big. I really could use 12.5 instead of 13 but no complaints. it actually makes it easier to use because it helps keep the bottle from pinching my finger against the ring.

I saw this on another website for much more. It does work and the size is accurate. Not fine jewelry but didn't expect that.

The "Ring Thing Bottle Opener" is a very cool gadget that works much better than expected. I was given this as gift by my son because there never seems to be a bottle opener around. Now the "Ring Thing" is always on hand when needed. Here are my observations:

+ Size Matters; too small and it will hurt your finger, tighter is better
+ Work Well; opens every bottle I have tried it on
+ Strong; stainless steel is tough, barely shows any ware after dozens of uses

This was a surprising practical gift that will get years of use!
