Editorial Reviews

Product Description
Here is a full-color coffee-table tribute to these special birds and those who hunt them--published in cooperation with Pheasants Forever.

This glorious full-color tribute to the pheasant and its place in the sporting life of millions of upland bird hunters is already a classic. Its stunning photographs, from many of the finest outdoor photographers in the country, are supported with quotations from such eminent writers on pheasants as Dan Holland, John Madson, Dale Spartas, Steve Grooms, and many others.

Russ Sewell and Dave Nomsen reflect on the pheasant's natural history and ties to agriculture and rural life, while a special essay by Steve Grooms takes a witty and eloquent look at the ringneck's supreme talent for outsmarting dog and hunter alike.

The spectacular photographs explode with the color and excitement of hunting ringnecks, taking you from the cornbelt to the Great Plains and beyond. Any pheasant hunter who has walked an autumn field and felt his pulse race a bit faster will love Ringneck.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book., January 25, 2001
By Joel Spring (Newfane, NY USA) - See all my reviews
I've been hunting pheasants and writing about hunting pheasants for several years. I also have read everything I can get my hands on about the subject. I feel comfortable saying that "Ringneck" is THE single finest collection of pheasant hunting photography and writing ever assembled under one book cover. If I could, I would give it ten stars. When bird hunting season is several months away and I am itching to get out with my dogs, without fail I will go to the bookcase and pull out "Ringneck" for a brief venture to that magical season. Simply a great book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ringnecks, October 6, 2003
By John R. Cowan (Massachusetts United States) - See all my reviews
Two of my co-workers purchased the book for me for my birthday. They understand my passion and obession that I have for pheasant hunting with my Chocolate Lab, Bailey. Especially in the off season! If I can't hunt the birds, then I need to be reading about them. This book is beautifully illustrated and well written. It discusses and describes the true passion for hunting pheasnts. Its an easy read and the pictures are awesome. All in all and excellent read and even better as a gift. Thanks Toz and Mojo!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, August 18, 2004

A GREAT book full of some very colorful pictures. If the sight of a flushing Pheasant in full colors in autumn brings you joy - you will enjoy this book. Pictures of bird hunters, western landscapes, birddogs, shotguns and short stories.
