This figure is wonderful, and his robes are actually WHITE! Unlike the previous The Two Towers Gandalf the White figures, whose robes had a yellowish beige, this Gandalf is a pure white on his robes, and it looks great. His accessories, his staff and sword, and durable and detailed. His facial expression isn't as dead-on as TTT Gandalf figure, but it still looks great. His hair is in a blown-back position, as if he's standing in the wind or in fierce combat. He stands up well; his knees are stronger than TTT Gandalf's knees, whose were very weak. His articulation is superb, and this figure is a 9.5 out of 10. The only downside is that his face doesn't look as much like Ian McKellen, who portrays Gandalf in the LOTR films, as the other Gandalf figures did.
This figure's accessories aren't so small that they could be serious choking hazards, but there is still a possibility of a choking hazard, so I'd recommend this action figure to people older than 3 years old.

First of all, YES. His robes are much whiter. When put side-by-side with the Two Towers Gandalf, you can tell a difference. But fear not, the robes on this Gandalf are the proper white you expect from the White Rider!
I have a secret store source I ordered this from in advance, and eagerly opened the box I found waiting on my doorstep when I got home.
The facial accuracy seems actually to be a little bit LESS than the TTT Gandalf the White figure. The hair flows back more behind him, like he's in action. The sword is practically identical to the TTT figure, as well as the staff. The sheath is now quite black, though.
The biggest improvement is the white robe he wears. It's not one that's too big and that he has trouble sticking out of, either, like the cloth cloak with Galadriel. It is not removable (at least, not from what I've tried), but looks good on him. I wish they would have made a better attempt on the silver brooch that holds his cloak together...it's just a simple white thing that resembles the real brooch. It would have looked better if it were silver or something.
He stands PRETTY well on his own. Occasionally, I have trouble with his legs wanting to do a split on me, but that's only when I take him down from display.
Altogether awesome, and an improvement over the previous Gandalf the White figures! If you like Gandalf, Lord of the Rings, or just cool toys, you'll want to get him.

I am a huge fan of Gandalf and Sir Ian McKellen. I own every Gandalf figure that has come out, and I have to say, I am most pleased with this one. The detail is amazing compared to the Fellowship and the Two Towers figures; he also stands on his own a lot better than the first two. This is a great piece to add to any Lord of The Rings collection.
