5.0 out of 5 stars Hypnotic Delight!
This CD offers a refreshing blend of electronica, rock and pleasing melodies that pull you in and take you for a pleasant musical ride. "Tired of Being Sorry" is worth the price of admission, but this is much more than a one song CD. From "Struggle", the opening track to "Jackie",the very last, you'll find surprises that almost defy description. Even if you don't listen...

3.0 out of 5 stars Great jams
I like 4-5 songs on here. I love the singers voice. I wish they made other albums. Wished the song, "tired of being sorry" got into mainstream popularity.

Even if you don't listen closely to the lyrics, you'll still be drawn in and driven down a road that is rarely taken in today's pop music.....somewhere new!! And if you do listen to the lyrics you'll find them worthy as well. Enjoy what will be on my 2005 top ten list.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect sunny day, windows down music, April 22, 2005

I love this album. My sister and I went together to buy it yesterday after hearing "Tired of Being Sorry" on the radio. Neither one of us knew anything about the band, but were willing to take a chance, even if there were just one or two good tracks on the album. It does not dissapoint. The first time I heard "Tired of Being Sorry" it caught my ear and reminded me of some of the great indie-pop music of the 80s. It has a great melody/chorus, as well as a raw element to the vocals. It's sad and cheerful all at once. The rest of the album is so good, with every track being completely different. I heard a bit of Beck, U2 and the Bo Deans in it. My sister was reminded of Howie Day, Luna and Ween. We both love it. (Oh, and it doesn't hurt that both of the guys are extremely hot!) :) Buy this album!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Something different...something great, May 10, 2005
This review is from: Ringside (Audio CD)
Well, I'm sure you've read the reviews and seen all the other bands that this duo is being compared to....but I have a new one. Combine Our Lady Peace, Simple Plan, Ryan Adams, and Maxwell in a blender and you would come out with a shot of Ringside. Which is not a bad thing. Honestly, I think this group is so different that most (myself included) don't know what to think so we rush to compare them to others. Bottom line...great CD. I can't wait for more. I just wish they had a better website.

4.0 out of 5 stars The next big thing?, May 9, 2005
This review is from: Ringside (Audio CD)
i bought this after hearing "tired of being sorry" and a few other songs on their web site (ringsideband.com). the cd is very good. this album stands out against the bland backdrop of pop music today. there's plenty of pop on this album, but there's enough electronic instruments and guitars to give the entire sound a raw edge.

the buzz is building on this odd band (one member is teen actor balthazar getty). go out and get the cd and hear what the buzz is about.

4.0 out of 5 stars I can't figure out why i like this., April 29, 2005
This review is from: Ringside (Audio CD)
It sounds like everyone mashed together and spit out into something so hooky and sing-along-able that you can't take it out of the player. Not every song is good and i thank the cd player gods for the skip button daily.
I will name a few of the bands or artists that i though of, although i don't think they sound like any of them more than once except for the first two listed: Mundy (a whole lot), Eels (alot), U2, Grant Lee Buffalo, Beck, The Guess Who, Ratatat, Momus, Jude, Collective Soul, Morcheeba, Afghan Whigs, Cake, and many more. The strange thing is, I cannot recommend this cd to fans of any of these artists. The only way to know is to listen and see for yourself. I can see why people wouldn't like it at all. I can also see why others can't seem to get enough of it. I fall into the latter category most days.
I'm sort of embarassed that i like it, but again, i don't know why. It just feels like i should be making fun of it. If you are a big fan of indie rock or electronica/idm, listen to this and you may have a similar sensation.

5.0 out of 5 stars best new group of 2005 to date., April 23, 2005
This review is from: Ringside (Audio CD)
This duo has put together a terrific group of songs. It's hard to pinpoint exactly who these guys sound like. I love the Eels as well and their catchy sometimes sardonic lyrics do remind me of them, but their simple but effective arrangements give them a unique sound. "Spanish Faster", the first single, has a catchy classical Spanish guitar dominating the song and it works very well. My personal favorite is a cut that not many of the other reviewers have mentioned, and that is "Raining Next Door". I think I enjoy it so much cause you know it's gotta be a true story. In the intro the singer tells of his next door neighbor, who is a constant drama victim. "9 am she come round my house. She said "Last night why'd you have to play so loud? I mean I like your songs well at least a few, but to be quite honest I'm tired of listening to you." These guys have the hook down. Rather than mention the standout cuts I'll just say my least favorite songs are "Trixie, Strangerman, and Miss you ." I think Ringside are going to hit it big. I'm not tired of listening to them. And to be quite honest I look forward to listening to them for years to come.

You will not be sorry..each song has a great rhythm and words...truly laid out in a thoughtful manner. Their music hasn't left my ears since I found it... and it's permanently in the cd deck of the car.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Total Chill Out CD, April 22, 2005
This review is from: Ringside (Audio CD)
This cd is great for chilling out with. It's kind of a Howie Day/Death Cab/Beck type thing. A friend said that he hears Collective Soul if they were on XANAX. It's a mellow groove.

I saw them on Ellen's show and at first they did nothing for me. Then as the song progressed I thought "Hey they got somthing."

I like almost every song on the cd. Their all very catchy. I think this cd is definitly worth picking up. A very good cd to chill out during the summer with.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Rainy Days, October 8, 2005
This review is from: Ringside (Audio CD)
If you're looking for a band that's high in energy and that can make you jump up and rock, then Ringside isn't for you. The lead singer's voice calls to mind smoky lounge bars and velvet smoking jackets. To me, they're the closest thing to neosoul avaliable in the pop/rock world today. They sort of remind me of Depeche Mode in their latter years. This band is defninetly one to watch, and absolutely love the video for "Tired of Being Sorry."
