Had it installed by a licensed plumber.

In the summer when we wanted a lukewarm shower, we had to leave the hot water running in a sink so we didn't get a cold shower.

I recently installed one of these and it was easy, quick and the unit works fast without being too loud.

This is very similar to the previous model that it replaced, the R94LSi, except this one has improved scale detection to lessen and control mineral scale deposits. Since they are so similar, here is my previous review of the R94LSi:

I installed this over a 3-day weekend to replace a 40 gallon tank heater. I kept the install straightforward without additional reciculating systems or buffer tanks as I like to keep it simple. Prior to purchasing the 94LSi [very similar to RL94iN], I read a lot of reviews and was a bit worried about the "cold water sandwich" effect. After a month we only rarely experience this when I bump up the temp to 140F. When I leave the temp at 120F we never experience the sandwich effect.

The wait time for hot water is about the same as we used to wait for water from the tank style heater; maybe add a couple seconds but it's not a notieceable difference in wait time. The biggest comfort change I noticed is that the temperature is consistent while taking a shower. With the tank style heater I'd have to adjust the hot and cold a few times during the shower, but with the Rinnai 94LSi once I turn the shower handles they stay that way the whole time and the water feels the perfect temp the entire duration.

If I go into the water heater room while the unit kicks on, it sounds like a cross between a cat purring and a airline revving up its engine quietly in the distance. The main reason I upgraded to a tankless is for the space savings, but now I'm starting to like the endless consistent water temp as well. I was originally skeptical of tankless units and avoided them until I ran out of space, now I'm so glad I went tankless!

I aslo have this product installed, although im a licensed plumber and did installation myself but it shouldn't be any different if your unit was installed by a pro. I absolutely love the unit, i have to say that im very picky and hard to please kind of guy and I dont have any of the problems this unit giving to the other guy, preformance is unbelivable to this day i wonder how this little guy seems to keep up with up to 5 running units at the same time. Noise wise its probably as quite as working refriferator if not quiater but dont forget the unit is in the garage so u never ever hear it kick on unless u standing next to it, I hope this review helps,

When I needed to re-purpose a laundry room as a half bath, I needed to get rid of my tank water heater. Following the vent upstairs I mounted the unit in an upstairs bed room. 8 inches recessed into the wall, leaving 3 inches in the room. Now I have unlimited hot water, which it is very easy to change the temperature of. I freed up almost all the room the old water heater used and no one sleeping in the room has been woken up during use. The 4 inch vent uses the same enlarged hole the old 3 inch vent used.

Bought a tankless Rinnai though Amazon, it was delivered in two days as stated, happy. Installed, but wouldn't make hot water. Called Rinnai, they confirmed labor and parts were covered, although.. ' service calls ' and ' diagnostics ' are not covered. I ask you are service calls and diagnostics labor ? They're using semantics to back out of helping you when there products fail. Their technicians are not available, and only one hour of labor is covered, whatever they are calling labor. Of course they are so sorry you are having these problems. Will they connect you to a supervisor ? No. Of course it's not the persons fault who you're talking to but they're trained to give you lip service by this company, and at the end of the call where they are so sympathetic and you are dead in the cold water they say " Have a Great Day "

Rinnai RL94iN Natural Gas Tankless Water Heater, 9.4 Gallons Per Minute

Occasionally it works correctly. However, frequently when attempting to take a bath with nothing else running, it runs hot for less than a minute and then turns cold (continuous hot turned on). We got the RL94iN since this was the top of the line for residential use. If you leave it on, it cycles and you get another burst of hot followed by cold again --unacceptable.

We called Rinnai and they say that we must be attempting to draw too much hot water. We tried decreasing the flow with the same results.

I had a Bosch tankless water heater in my old home and it had a lot of issues, so with my new home I decided to go with a Rinnai based on all the positive input I got, especially from my brother who has one that heats everything in his McMansion. I really LOVE this unit - it's mounted in the garage and I never hear it from inside the house - in fact I don't hear it when I'm in the garage either. I can have two showers and the dishwasher running at the same time without loss of water pressure, or an issue with temperature. The TWH I ordered came with the valve kit so the only other thing I had to buy was the vent kit. Since the shipping was around $75 I opted to subscribe to Amazon PRIME and got free shipping, plus all the perks of Prime for a year. An added bonus that we are thoroughly enjoying.
